James Brighton Society, Chapter 7: Pages 17-18
Page 17, 6 Panels- Limousine, Washington D.C.
Panel 1-2: A two-part set of panels that center on the same side shot, splitting the interior of the limo into two halves. The Grand Vizier is seen in the left side in Panel 1, holding the manila envelope and extending it out toward Mr. Shaw in Panel 2 who grabs the bottom of it with full intent to read it.
GV JONES [confidently, to Lord Shaw; Panel 1]: You're familiar with the Meyerson protocol? LORD SHAW [nods, looking at the folder; Panel 2]: It was established shortly after World War I when the Society and Troia Nova were in the rebuilding phase. It ensured we had a voice in the room whenever a country was at war or under threat of extinction. GV JONES [Panel 1, Bubble 2]: I want you to lead the charge in passing it in Great Britain.
Panel 3: We move to a close-up on the member of the Lords a few seconds later. The folder is seen in the bottom of the panel view, opened up with the front of it in view of the reader. At this point, he's stopped in the middle of his thought and turns his attention squarely to Mr. Jones with a degree of curiosity in his voice.
LORD SHAW [stunned. to GV Jones]: Did--Didn't we try to pass this once 3 years ago? GV JONES [Off-Panel]: Yes. We had a deal in place with his government along with Comrade Stalin in Moscow.
Panel 4: Back to a shot of the Grand Vizier a few moments later. He leans back against the seat with his left hand placed casually on his lap. You can see the right arm and shoulder in the shot with the connected hand touching the seat off-panel.
GV JONES [Cont., with a growl]: Then came the damn Norway Debate, Stalin quietly slinked off and pleaded ignorance and the deal was scuppered faster than an Irishman at a police station.
Panel 5: Same setting/layout as Panel 3. Shaw's attitude shifts from curiosity to mild skepticism, raising an eyebrow at the explanation given in the previous panel. Also, the front of the folder that was visible in the bottom of Panel 3 has now faded from view at this point.
LORD SHAW: With all due respect, sir, what makes you think Mr. Churchill, or the other Allies, will be more amenable?
Panel 6: We move back to Jones in a similar setting and layout to what we saw in Panel 4. The lone change that can be seen here is a wide, borderline devilish smile that has come across his face. All as the car starts to make its final turn in the background.
GV JONES: Page 5 should answer that question...

Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels that centers on the member of the Lords in the same setting and layout that we saw in the second-to-last panel of the previous page. In the first two panels, we see him reading through the pages one-by-one, his intrigue increasing as he sees the plan that the Grand Vizier has laid out. In Panel 3, he tilts his head up to the JBS leader for one last point he wants cleared up.
LORD SHAW [Panel 2]: The Twin Demons... LORD SHAW [Cont. curious, to GV Jones; Panel 3]: You believe you can get a "Yes" from the Allied nations with them? GV JONES [Off-Panel, Panel 3]: Indeed, young Arthur, along with the rest of this dirty planet.
Panel 4: Cut back to the Grand Vizier a second later in the same setting and layout as the end of the previous page. You can also see the level of cocky confidence in his eyes that we saw then, while the limousine as a whole starts to slow down in the background. Though Jones doesn't acknowledge it at this point.
GV JONES [Cont.]: I am counting on you to help get us "Yes" from the Empire, especially given your recent elevation as Lord President of the Council.
Panel 5-6: We move back to the Lord in the same setting and layout as the page's top panels. He nods in an honorable fashion, closing the folder of documents that he was given in the previous page. In the background, as was the case in the previous panel, you can see the car in the middle of its slow-down, heading to a stop by the time we reach Panel 6.
LORD SHAW [appreciative, Panel 5]: It would be my great honor, sir. DRIVER [to Lord Shaw and GV Jones, Panel 6]: We're here, Grand Vizier.
