James Brighton Society, Chapter 7: Pages 19-20
Page 19, 5 Panels- Limousine, Washington D.C.
Panel 1-2: A two-part set of panels that moves back to the Grand Vizier in the same setting and layout that we saw him in his panels in the previous page. In Panel 1, he nods in the direction of the driver, basely acknowledging the announcement. A moment later, in Panel 2, he turns his attention to the subordinate Lord directing him what to do with the dossier.
GV JONES [to the Driver, Panel 1]: Thank you, Dennis... GV JONES [to Lord Shaw, Panel 2]: Before we leave Arthur, I must ask you to slide the dossier in the compartment next to you.
Panel 3: Action shot of Arthur after looking for a few moments, pointing in the direction of a slot located to his right (panel left). In the background behind him, you can see Dennis fully exit the driver's seat on his way to open the doors at their location.
LORD SHAW [inquiring, to GV Jones]: Here, Grand Vizier? GV JONES [Off-Panel]: Yes, that's the one...the code is MDCCCXXXIX LORD SHAW [Bubble 2]: Clever...
Panel 4: Slight close-up on Mr. Shaw's arm sliding the documents into the hidden compartment that we saw only briefly in the previous panel. The design of it makes it look like it was custom built into the car with a custom combination lock containing regular and Greek numerals in the center of it, which has already been unlocked by the Lord at this point.
LORD SHAW [Off-Panel]: Are you not worried though that your driver will steal whatever documents for his own profit?
Panel 5: Back to Jones in a similar setting and layout to what we saw at the top of the page. He shrugs dismissively at the question, brushing off a section of his suit coat as he speaks. To the left of the panel view, you can see a patch of light from outside coming into the area, illuminating the limo's interior.
GV JONES: Not in the slightest. Not since the incident with Mr. Armondsen a long time ago. LORD SHAW [Off-Panel]: Grandfather told me about that tale when I was a child. GV JONES [Bubble 2]: Then I won't tell you that anyone who tried a similar tactic...
Page 20, 5 Panels- Limousine/Kennedy Center, Washington D.C.
Panel 1: Action shot taken from the edge of some section of the White Cliffs of Dover in the late afternoon just before sunset. We don't get any detail about the two men standing there, save for what they wear which denote their respective stations. The man on the right of the panel view is heavy set and physically imposing, dressed in a white T-shirt and a pair of pants with a JBS pin on his chest. The other man next to him, dressed in tattered clothes and wrapped all over in chains, is seen being pushed off the edge of the cliff. His eyes closed in an almost peaceful fashion, as if fully expecting this result.
GV JONES [Caption]: "Would meet a similar, gruesome fate!"
Panel 2: Back to the interior of the limo a few moments later, focused specifically on the Grand Vizier. He's already unbuckled and is starting to make his way to the opened door to the right of the panel view. You can see the light that was partially visible in the previous page increased in intensity, along with the sound of chatter from reporters.
GV JONES [buttoning up the top of his coat, to Lord Shaw]: Now, my boy, it is time to put that business aside...
Panel 3: Cut to an exterior shot of the red carpet area to the Kennedy Center. We see the Honorable Mr. Shaw and the Grand Vizier standing side-by-side as they slowly make their way up the carpet and the glare of photogs and reporters that line both sides of the carpet. You can see, in the top of the panel view, part of the Center's entrance and the concrete steps leading inside which is already being filled by other soon-to-be attendees.
GV JONES [Cont.]: And enjoy the show!
Panel 4-5: Action shots taken from ground level a few minutes later, showing Mr. Jones and the Lord from Leicester walking up and conversing with reporters and fellow dignitaries on their way. Each panel connects toward a single scene with the Grand Vizier upstage in Panel 4 and Shaw a few steps behind her in Panel 5.
TASHA [caption, Panel 4]: Mona Ahmaddi...who is she, a goddess or some type of mystic witch that can--? GREM [caption, Panel 5]: Nah, just a skilled weapons maker I've know for over a decade. She's a native of the Arabian pennisula.
