James Brighton Society, Chapter 8: Pages 11-12
Page 11, 5 Panels- Mona's Laboratory, Jeddah Saudi Arabia
Panel 1-3: We move to an interior shot of the laboratory. Each panel displays a different part of the laboratory, showing different weapons of various sizes and designs. They range from winged grenades as large as oranges and rocket launchers (Panel 1) to swords with laser tips at both edges of the handle which has Arabic script on it (Panel 2) and flat metal plates with an electrical glow emanating from the center (Panel 3).
MONA [caption, Panel 1]: You looking for something with a healthy explosion factor to it? MONA [Cont. caption, Panel 2]: Maybe something with a little more finesse... MONA [caption, Panel 3]: Or possibly something in the middle? GREM [caption 2, Panel 3]: I'm definitely looking for something with some finesse and boom.
Panel 4: Cut to a close-up of Mr. Allen's face a moment later. Part of his focus is moved to the left of the panel where Mona's standing, while the other part examines the weapons carefully. In the background, you can see the Helabeast from earlier above the exam table encased in a deep icy sheen.
GREM [Cont., to Mona]: But going against the Magog, I also need something for containment, in case things start to move to a big city center.
Panel 5: We move back to a shot of Mona standing a few steps from Grem at this time. She nods slightly, understanding the base of his concern. The background behind her is similar to what we saw in the previous panel, showing the top half of the frozen creature in chains on the ceiling.
MONA [understanding, to Grem]: An understandable concern...I think I might have something that should satisfy all your needs.

Panel 1-2: A two-part set of panels that focuses squarely on Ms. Ahmaddi a few moments later, standing at another part of the laboratory displaying the weapons to the Irish inventor. In Panel 1, she pulls out a sword from within the off-panel drawer. In the next one, the layout widens to show a metal gray and brown Grecian-esque shield gripped in her left hand.
MONA [to Grem, Panel 1]: I picked this up during an auction in Cairo. Cost me a good deal of money, along with a spell for turning something into gold to keep an oil magnate from outbidding me. GREM [Off-Panel, to Mona; Panel 1]: I'm guessing the poor bastard wasn't familiar with the story of Midas. MONA [Panel 1, Bubble 2]: Haha--Not in the slightest! The sword was found at the burial site of a famed Egyptian general who supposedly had it blessed by the spirit of the god of war Anhur. MONA [Cont., Panel 2]: As for the shield, that's just something I whipped up a while back to help out in case I'm ever caught in some kind of trouble. It can withstand the rounds from any bullet as well as roughly the same explosive force as 1,000 pounds of TNT.
Panel 3: Cut to Grem moments later a few steps away from Mona's position. He takes the sword from Mona's extended hand, and examines the weapon for a moment. His gaze looks up from the middle of the blade toward his highly intelligent compatriot.
GREM [complimentary, but cautious; to Mona]: The blade is a stunner, though the shield...ya do know I'm stocked with body armor, right?
Panel 4: Back to Mona in the same setting and layout as the top of the page. She smirks to the left and lets out a mild chuckle at the remark. As she speaks, you can hear the sound of a "CLICK!" coming from behind the shield.
MONA: Can your body armor do this?
Panel 5-6: It starts out in Panel 5 in the same setting and layout as the previous panel. A second later, from within the center of the shield, a powerful beam of blue and white energy shoots out in the direction of the reader. In Panel 6, it shifts to a shot moments later of the energy forming a massive cage around the frozen creature.
