James Brighton Society, Chapter 10: Pages 3-4

Page 3, 6 Panels- Dungeon, Undisclosed Location

Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels that encompasses one single action shot, showing Mr. Reese bending out of view a second later (Panel 1). You can see the white-gray furred creature leaping into view with its razor sharp teeth opened in order to take a bite at him just as he extends the chain out in line to his mouth (Panel 2). Then, with one powerful bite, the chain is broken and split in half as the creature flies out of view (Panel 3).

Panel 4: Cut to a shot of the Kalikantzaro on the other side of the room after landing from its killing blow earlier. It looks over and lets out an angered roar directed at our two off-panel heroes. You can see the claws grow a little larger at the same time, denting the concrete floor in preparation for the next lunge.

Panel 5: Action shot of Kyle running up to the area of the wall in the background where the creature emerged from. At this point, he's standing alongside a weary Tasha, pulling together as much energy as she can for what she's gonna do next.

OFFICER REESE [to Tasha]: I'll look for a way out, you deal with the Abominable Snowman over there. TASHA [nods, to Officer Reese]: Right. Can barely stand right now, but...right! OFFICER REESE [Bubble 2]: If you need a boost, I can-- TASHA [interjecting, Bubble 2]: No need, just go!

Panel 6: Close-up on Ms. Randolph's face a moment later. She smiles wide, looking straight at the creature a split second after it starts to charge toward her. You can see a few streams of sweat going down her brow, moving along the bruises and scars that are visible on her right eye and all over her face.

TASHA [Cont.]: I got enough for this... TASHA [thought bubble]: After that, it's just...cannonballing into the dark.

Page 4, 4 Panels- Dungeon, Undisclosed Location

Panel 1-4: A four-part set of panels that tracks our heroine running full on toward the creature with the slack of the chain in as much of a sprint as she can muster. With each panel, you can see more of the creature come into view. By Panel 2, she's leaped up onto the creature's muscular back. By Panel 3, the Kalikantzaro's formidable head connects with the extended metal chains. And in Panel 4, the chain breaks apart at the same moment that the former Detective leaps off the creature as it tumbles to the ground.
