James Brighton Society, Chapter 10: Pages 5-6
Page 5, 6 Panels- Dungeon/Ballroom, Undisclosed Location/JBS Headquarters, Alexandria Virginia
Panel 1: We move to a shot of the former Detective a few moments later, catching her breath after the previous page's action sequence. She looks down and sees the Kalikantzaro on the ground with a degree of disbelief, listening to the audible snoring from the bottom of the panel view that fills the room.
TASHA [trying to understand what she's seeing]: As if this couldn't get weirder...is that thing snoring?
Panel 2: Cut to Mr. Reese a beat later, scoffing at the question. His eyes focused firmly on a section of the wall, feeling around in every direction for some type of hidden button that will reveal the door to them.
OFFICER REESE [not looking a gift horse in the mouth]: Don't know how, don't care why! As long as it's not punching me in the mouth or other meaty parts, I'll take that as a plus.
Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few moments later, he looks over in Tasha's direction. His left arm is extended out and pointing toward a point off-panel while his other continues searching as he speaks.
OFFICER REESE [Cont.]: Let's get the hell outta here before it wakes up. Who knows how much time we have left before the big Magog rises...
Panel 4: We move to the interior of the Ballroom back at JBS Headquarters as this all goes on, with a particular focus on the Grand Vizier watching Bing Crosby perform on-stage with a pleased look on his face. In the panel view, he's the only one who isn't slow dancing with someone.
OFFICER REESE [caption]: ...if we have any!
Panel 5-6: A two-part set of panels that's centered on the same setting and layout as the previous panel. In Panel 5, everything appears to be normal as the guests dance along to the soothing sounds of the crooner. In the next panel, coming in from the left of the panel view, we see the same underling from Mr. Jones' first introduction back in Chapter 1. He stops behind him to make his announcement.
UNDERLING [to GV Jones, Panel 6]: The Commander is on the phone for you, Grand Vizier. GV JONES [wide-smile, to Underling; Panel 6]: Excellent...I'll take it in my office.

Panel 1: Cut to a few minutes later inside the Grand Vizier's office. He has the phone pressed up to his ear, standing to the corner of his desk and looking out at the window as he speaks. You can see the same architectural layout of the bookcase that we saw the last time we were in his office, illuminated by the glow of the lights off-panel.
GV JONES [into the receiver, relieved and annoyed]: About time you captured that damn Mick! How soon can you bring him to the site? COMMANDER [from the receiver to Grand Vizier, nervously]: We are moving at full speed over the Atlantic, Grand Vizier.
Panel 2-3: A two-part set of panels that follows Mr. Jones as he moves behind the desk while listening to his subordinate soldier's explanation in Panel 2. His still agile and active mind hard at work as more of the rear window and the night outside is more and more visible in the background. In Panel 3, the Grand Vizier stops with a wide smile on his face.
COMMANDER [Cont., Panel 2]: The closest I believe we can get there is around 12:15 at the earliest. GV JONES [in thought, Panel 2]: A disappointment...but a mild one at best. COMMANDER [Panel 3]: Shall I initiate Plan B, sir? GV JONES [Panel 3]: Yes indeed, Commander. Leave him in that place where we got Brennan- the Avalon Arms. Clear the rooftop of any stragglers if you encounter them--
Panel 4-5: A two-part set of panels that starts with a close-up on our antagonist's face a second later. The smile is somewhat disturbed by the sounds of static coming from the other end, followed by the dial tone, though not enough that it completely fades from view. Before he's able to react to the weird noise, in Panel 5, the phone rings again. He looks down and clicks a button on the phone's console off-panel.
GV JONES [to the Commander, Panel 4]: Hello...? GV JONES [Panel 5]: Hmm!
Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel, along with the same illuminated glint of the window glass in the background. A moment later, you can see his smile fade back to a stoic glare as he listens to who's on the other end with great interest.
LORD SHAW [from the receiver, to GV Jones]: They're on board, Grand Vizier...
