James Brighton Society, Chapter 10: Pages 7-8

Page 7, 5 Panels- GV Jones' Office/Lord Shaw's Office, JBS Headquarters/Westminster, Alexandria Virginia/London England

Panel 1: We move back to a shot of Mr. Shaw seated in his office with the phone against his ears, looking down at a set of documents that are laid out in front of his desk. You can see a half-drank glass of scotch in the foreground to the corner of those papers, along with part of the window in the background.

LORD SHAW [Cont.]: The plan is to have the legislation in place in the major Allied powers' legislative branches once we deliver word the Magog is taken down. GV JONES [from the receiver, to Lord Shaw]: I can handle that on this end. Superb work, son! LORD SHAW [Bubble 2]: Thank you, sir. Changing topics- in your new world order...

Panel 2: Back to the Grand Vizier in his office, standing in the same position relative to his desk that we saw him in near the end of Page 6. He pretends to think it over, but says nothing; in his mind, however, he secretly already knows the answer to the question being asked.

LORD SHAW [Cont., from the receiver]: Could you possibly, in your infinite wisdom, gift me with domination over the British isles and her territories? GV JONES [thinking]: Hmmm.... LORD SHAW [Bubble 2]: I promise not to be a threat toward your global dominion. I just figured, given my previous service to the cause and to Troia Nova that--

Panel 3-4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The elder Mr. Jones grins and gives out a little bit of relief to the younger looking Member of the House of Lords, moving only a step between this panel and Panel 2. In Panel 4, he looks down toward his watch on his opposite hand to finish off the rest of his thought.

GV JONES [Cont., Panel 3]: We will discuss that matter later. LORD SHAW [Panel 3]: Yes, sir. Of--Of course, sir. GV JONES [Panel 4]: I should go. Midnight is close, and I need to go through my address to the people one last time. LORD SHAW [from the receiver, Panel 4]: Yes, sir, Grand Vizier. Very good...

Panel 5: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout widens a little as, moments later, the Grand Vizier looks down toward the phone and types in a number onto a keypad underneath the red button on the main console.

Page 8, 6 Panels- GV Jones' Office/Hallway, JBS Headquarters/Undisclosed Location, Alexandria Virginia/Undisclosed Location

Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. A second later, we see Reginald's arm that he used to dial back to his side as he speaks with a stern and commanding look on his face.

GV JONES [into the receiver]: Let the ceremony begin...

Panel 2: Cut to the interior of the undisclosed location minutes after the previous panel where Tasha and the good Officer Reese are out of the dungeon and running quickly in search of the room where the Magog is located. Coming from the left of the panel view, you can hear the sound of singing taking place off in the distance.

OFFICER REESE [to Tasha, hopeful]: We're close...I can feel it. TASHA [to Officer Reese]: You believe that? Or you just hope that it is? OFFICER REESE [Bubble 2]: Is there a difference? TASHA [playing Devil's advocate, Bubble 2]: Fair point. I hope you're right...and it's not some creepy Man-Bat behind there that'll come and attack us.

Panel 3: We move to a close-up on Mr. Reese a few seconds later, shooting a look of panicked disbelief at the comment. The background of the gray concrete walls put into a greater focus behind his face and upper chest area as he speaks. You can also see part of a window come into view along with the accompanying darkness.

OFFICER REESE: Tell me that isn't a thing!

Panel 4-5: Back to Tasha in a similarly framed shot that Kyle had back in the previous panel. She chuckles, looking at her friend from her periphery with a degree of reassurance which is evident in her words. In Panel 5, a beat later, the former Detective's attention is turned properly to the sound of the Mecha-Guard standing off-panel.

TASHA [witty, Panel 4]: With some of the crap I've seen, buddy, it wouldn't surprise me--

MECHA-GUARD [robotically, Off-Panel; Panel 5]: Intruder! Intruder!

Panel 6: Cut to a rear shot of our two heroes, looking on as a mecha-guard and a human guard charge toward them. They each point their respective weapons, which are warming up as they speak, in the direction of who they view as intruders. All the while, the music grows to some type of crescendo out of view.

HUMAN GUARD [to Tasha and Officer Reese]: One more step and we blow you to bits!
