Page 23, 5 Panels- Graveyard, Present Day Las Vegas
Panel 1-5: A five-part set of panels that are stacked one on top of the other, moving downward in terms of the view of the reader. It follows her moving through different sections of gravestones in search of the one that brought her, arriving there by the time we reach Panel 5. With each one, in the top of the panel view, you can see memories appear in a misty form emanating from her head which describe an idealized image of what life was for her with Henry.
IMAGES [Panel 1]: Henry and Melanie walking down the aisle at their wedding, and then kissing after saying their respective "I Do's." MELANIE [Caption, Panel 1]: There's such a sad love Deep in your eyes A kind of pale jewel Open and closed IMAGES [Panel 2]: Years later, they're with a realtor in front of the first home they bought, a modest looking one-story. Melanie hangs a photo of Zoe Washburne in their bedroom to the nodding, smiling approval of her husband. MELANIE [Cont. caption, Panel 2]: Within your eyes I'll place the sky Within your eyes IMAGES [Panel 3]: We see Melanie cheering on Henry outside a theatre after landing a repertory job there, and Henry giving her support as she works on a laptop. MELANIE [Cont. caption, Panel 3]: There's such a fooled heart Beatin' so fast In search of new dreams A love that will last IMAGES [Panel 4]: Flash-forward to the future where Henry is the Creative Director in charge of that theatre and Melanie in charge of her own VR software company based in L.A. MELANIE [Cont. caption, Panel 4]: Within your heart I'll place the moon Within your heart As the pain sweeps through, Makes no sense for you IMAGES [Panel 5]: We flash-forward again to their later years as they travel the world, typified with a kiss that is similar to the one we saw in Panel 1. MELANIE [Cont. caption, Panel 5]: Every thrill is gone Wasn't too much fun at all, But I'll be there for you As the world falls down Falling Falling down...

Panel 1-2: A two-part set of panels that moves to a close-up on Melanie's face as she looks down at the gravestone off-panel; the darkening night sky behind her in the background, along with a section of starlight. In Panel 1, she stumbles through a part of the song due to the tears welling up in her throat. In Panel 2, a few moments later, we see the young woman get back to the song at hand once more, though the tears still hold barely amongst red eyes.
MELANIE [singing, Panel 1]: Falling...in love... MELANIE [clears her throat, to Henry; Panel 1, Bubble 2]: Sorry. S--Something in my throat...
Panel 3-5: A three-part set of panels that keeps to the same setting and layout as the first two. As she continues with the song in earnest, you can see her eyes getting more and more red, becoming glossy with the tears that trickle down her cheeks in little streams as she sings.
MELANIE [singing, Panel 3]: I'll paint you mornings of gold I'll spin you Valentine evenings Though we're strangers 'til now, We're choosing the path MELANIE [Cont., Panel 4]: Between the stars I'll leave my love Between the stars As the pain sweeps through, Makes no sense for you MELANIE [Cont., Panel 5]: Every thrill is gone Wasn't too much fun at all, But I'll be there for you-ou-ou As the…

Panel 1: A full-page sized panel that focuses squarely on Ms. Haynes with her head to the ground, sobbing silently to herself needing a break from the song; the flowers lying on in front of Henry's grave. You can see in the background the gravestones off in the distance along with the main building to the funeral hall. You can also see the memories of the other life that were on display in Page 23 wafting in the night sky above her at that moment.
