Jones St., Chapter 2: Pages 5-6
Page 5, 5 Panels- Randall's Office, EPB Bookstore, Jones St., Las Vegas NV
Panel 1: Cut back to a slight close-up on Tara, looking down toward the floor after placing the other pile of mail on the desk. His hands are in his pockets and his shoulders are slightly elevated as he speaks. You can see parts of the ceiling above him as well as the walls to the right of the panel view.
TARA [shrugs, to Randall]: Hadn't really thought about it. Usually, I like to get in some writing on the weekends, and I don't really drink.
Panel 2: Back to Randall a beat later in the same setting and layout as the end of the last page. He chuckles, placing the bill along with the rest of the letters that he held earlier. You can see in the movement a wedding ring on his right hand.
RANDALL [knowing, to Tara]: I know, but there are other things to do at crawls than drink. You can chat, get to know someone better...check out that new place that opened up a month ago, Sif's.
Panel 3-4: A two-part set of panels that moves back to Tara in the same setting and layout as the page's first panel, along with the same background. In Panel 3, he laughs nervously at the assumption with a touch of anxiety and unease while his dad continues on. He turns his head back up to Randall in Panel 4 as a response to what he heard before.
TARA [squinting, partly gagging; Panel 3]: Nice as that last part is Dad, you--you know I'm not a fan of small talk or flirtation. RANDALL [interjecting, Off-Panel; Panel 3]: I'm not saying you should go crazy or something. You can just people watch and pick up some cool souvenirs. TARA [more amenable, Panel 4]: Oh yeah... RANDALL [Off-Panel, Panel 4]: The music's supposed to be really good too...think about it.
Panel 5: Cut back to Randall a few moments later. He notices the security camera footage emanating from the computer monitor. His hands gently touch the top of the papers and pieces of mail that are strewn across the desktop, noticing something that popped into view for the dad manager.
RANDALL [Cont., getting back to business]: There's a line starting to form out front. You should head back out to the register.

Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels that cuts back to Tara at the front desk in a montage of dealing with the line of customers, starting immediately after the action of Page 5 before moving to that Friday the 13th by Panel 3. His mind already trailing off into the distance while he goes through the realm of action that he's done many many times before. You can see behind him a pair of fragments of other stories from far off places and times, one of which has the same alien heroine we saw in the previous page, that play along in little vignettes through the course of each panel.
TARA [thought bubble, Panel 1]: It'll be fine...me going. It starts after my shift ends. All I gotta do is Just as long as I can keep to the open gaps, and make sure I-- TARA [thought bubble, Panel 2]: Oooo, I like that idea! Definitely putting a pin on that one for later. TARA [thought bubble 2, Panel 2]: ...Focus, focus! Save the fun world building for after close. CAPTION [Panel 3]: Three Days Later 4/14/2017 TARA [Cont. thought bubble, Panel 3]: Ah, love that one too!
Panel 4: Action shot of Mr. Myers a short time later, during a low part of his work day. He's leaning against a chair, writing the ideas that were floating over his shoulder previously onto a notebook. The setting and layout is also the same as the page's first three panels with a little tint of darkness coming into the area, denoting the change in time at this point.
Panel 5-6: A two-part set of panels that moves to a section of the store. We see a young woman in college standing near the Nonfiction section in Panel 5, glancing over in Tara's direction with a quizzical look on her face. She's wearing a tanktop and a pair of nice looking jean shorts with her blonde hair styled in a nice coif. She takes a couple of steps forward and stands in front of the cashier in Panel 6, looking for a way to settle her query.
WOMAN [to Tara, Panel 6]: Sir, um, I--I need help.
