Jones St., Chapter 4: Pages 17-18
Page 17, 5 Panels- Ground Floor Lobby, Melanie's Apartment Building, Las Vegas NV
Panel 1: Cut to a shot of a text screen, similar in format to what we see on most Galaxy smart phones. At the top of the screen in white letters the name Chase, and near the bottom of the panel view we see, "Hey T! How was the interview? Feel up for talking?" The time (3:09 P.M.) is located just above the gray text balloon.
Panel 2-3: A two-part set of panels that starts off with a shot of Tara's reading the text as he walks, slower than it was back in the previous panel. His mind going through how to respond at that moment. Then, in Panel 3, he starts typing on the keypad as he approaches the front entrance to the building; the light from outside hitting his face at that moment. You can hear off-panel in both panels the sound of clicking emanating from the zip drive.
TARA [narration caption, Panel 2]: Chase McArthur- an old friend of mine from a few years back. He worked with me at the store when he was in college, long enough to introduce me to my first stack of comic books- Justice League and Daredevil, to be exact. TARA [Cont. narration caption, Panel 3]: We still keep in contact though after he graduated and moved east to settle down...one of the "good ones" I mentioned earlier.
Panel 4: We move back to the text screen that was visible back in Panel 1. Just below the text that we saw then, there's another blue text balloon that reads, "It was good. I'm feeling a bit drained at the moment though. Talk on FB Messenger later after I get off work, okay?"
Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. We see his response to the question pop up just underneath the one that was visible in Panel 4, "Sure. Sounds good..." At the same time this goes on, you can see the glare from the sun outside hit the screen, blanking out part of the upper right portion of the panel view.
Page 18, 4 Panels- EPB Bookstore, Las Vegas NV
Panel 1: We move to an exterior shot of the bookstore a little later; the car parked in one of the front areas located near its side parking lot. You can see the facade EPB just above the entrance to the store, but also just below the set of three windows above the place which comprise the Myers' house.
Panel 2: Cut to an interior shot of the store itself a few moments later. Tara barges inside, dusting off a section of his vest as he moves. You can see his right hand pocketing the zip drive in his right trouser pocket. In the background, you can also see Jones St. and the side of a Jeep passing from left to right.
Panel 3: We shift view over to the front counter where his dad has been tending to things. You can see the back of one of the customers crossing over to the left of the panel view, holding what he bought in a bag in his left hand. There's a smile that comes across Randall's face upon seeing his son come by.
RANDALL [pleasantly, to Tara]: Hey. How did the delivery go? TARA [Off-Panel]: It was okay. RANDALL [Bubble 2]: If you need to charge up, I can tend to the register till closing.
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of Tara a second later, crossing around the other side of the counter. His eyes following his father as he leaves at the same time back to his office. There's a general nonchalant attitude to the whole thing, which hides the fact his energy bar is at 28%.
TARA [to Randall]: It's okay, Dad. I can handle it. TARA [thought bubble]: How I'll do it is where the fun begins...or things that are right around the same zip code as fun.
