Jones St., Chapter 6: Pages 19-20
Page 19, 4 Panels- Tate's, Jones St., Las Vegas NV
Panel 1: Back to Melanie in the same setting/layout as Panel 5 of the previous page, along with the same background. She has a look of disbelief in regards to the revelation from Page 18, along with a slight smile over her face connected to it.
MELANIE [taken aback, to Tara]: Really? What'd you think of it?
Panel 2: Back to Tara in the same setting/layout as the end of the previous page, along with the same background. He nods, placing the 3/4 full glass of soda back on the table in the same position as before; the rest of his body already straightening out compared to what happened in that 6th panel on Page 18.
TARA [glancing slightly up, to Melanie]: Kinda cheesy, didn't care for it (at least when I first saw it). Then I saw it on RiffTrax and I...grew to respect its weirdness. Not unlike Reptilicus...
Panel 3: Same setting/layout as Panel 1, along with the same background. The smile widens compared to that moment as the disbelief from before fades from view here. You can see the form of a shadow in the background appearing to their table as she speaks.
MELANIE [intrigued]: You're an MST3k fan? TARA [Off-Panel]: Mmm-hmm...! MELANIE [thought bubble]: There's some big potential here!
Panel 4: Same setting/layout as Panel 2, along with the same background. He smiles just as wide as Ms. Haynes had in the previous panel as he speaks. As was also the case in Panel 3, you can see the shadow of the Waiter appear in side view in the panel shot.
TARA: Since I saw the first reruns on Sci-Fi when I was in middle school. Something about Tom Servo's dry sense of humor just...spoke to me! MELANIE [Off-Panel]: Hahaha....

Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels that consists of a series of action shots of the rest of the evening's date. In Panel 1, it's a side shot of Tara and Melanie are chatting with one another as they eat their respective meals. It carries on in Panel 2 in the same setting and layout as the previous one; the plates a little smaller, but the good time between the two of them increases as the night goes on. In Panel 3, the setting shifts to the front entrance of the restaurant at the night's end; they're close, but not quite at hand holding level even now.
CAPTION [Panel 1]: In the not-too-distant future -- Next Sunday A.D. -- There was a guy named Joel CAPTION [Panel 2]: Not too different from you or me. He worked at Gizmonic Institute, Just another face in a red jumpsuit. CAPTION [Panel 3]: He did a good job cleaning up the place, But his bosses didn't like him So they shot him into space. MELANIE [to Tara, clarifying; Panel 3]: You sure? The night's still young, by Vegas standards. There's an awesome karaoke place a few minutes from here we can... TARA [to Melanie interjecting with certainty; Panel 3]: Yeah I'm sure...
Panel 4: Cut to a close-up of Mr. Myers face looking over in Melanie's direction to finish the rest of his thought as they continue walking to the parking lot. In the background, you can see the night sky and the glow of nearby street lights coming from off-panel right as he speaks that illuminate his energy bar which is in the red at 22%.
TARA [Cont.]: There's so much interacting with humans, even when it's good, that I can deal with before I start running on fumes. TARA [Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 5, Bubble 1]: I had a great time, by the way.
Panel 5: Cut to a similar type of close-up on Melanie a few beats later. She's standing just off the curb of the sidewalk and gives a respectful nod toward his concern, splitting her gaze between him and the cars that are a little ways away from where they are. You can see the other side of the parking lot in the background, as well as the exterior side of Tate's itself to the right side of the panel view.
MELANIE: Fair enough...thought I'd ask. MELANIE [Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 4, Bubble 1]: Me too.
