Jones St., Chapter 6: Pages 21-22
Page 21, 6 Panels- Outside Tate's, Jones St., Las Vegas NV Panel 1: Back to Tara in the same setting/layout as Panel 4 of the previous page, along with the same background. As Melanie had in the end of Page 20, he's stopped in the same position a few steps from the sidewalk with a look of concern on his face.
TARA [to Tara, nervously]: You, uh...want me to stay here till the Lyft comes? I’m not really sure what the protocol it is for ride shares on dates. Panel 2: Back to Melanie in the same setting/layout as the end of the previous page, along with the same background. She confidently shakes her head at the question, showing a degree of appreciation from what Tara said then and there.
MELANIE [to Tara]: Nah, it's fine T. I can call you T, right?
TARA [Off-Panel]: Mmm-hmmm!
TARA [Bubble 2]: I just got a text saying he'll be here in a few minutes. Thank you though!
Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the page's first panel. He quickly nods at the statement; his eyes looking over toward the parking lot now at this point, though his gaze is also split toward Melanie as he speaks. In his body language, you can see the level of anxiety and nerves billowing up inside him.
TARA: Cool cool. Um...I've been thinking about this all day, and--there's no obligation to say yes or anything. But I figure, since we never (I don't think) really established one way or another when we set up, I figure I'd ask...was tonight an official date-date? Panel 4-6: A three-part set of panels that focuses on a single profile shot of the two of them standing side-by-side for a few long moments; the restaurant visible behind them in the background. In the first two panels, both Melanie and Tara are silent, unsure of precisely what to say at that point. Then in Panel 6, Melanie reaches out and grabs Tara's hand gently.
Page 22, 1 Panel- Outside Tate's, Jones St., Las Vegas NV Panel 1: A full-page sized panel that is centered exclusively on both of their hands a few moments, still wrapped up in one another. Tara's hand and arm is visible to the right of the panel view and Melanie's hand and arm is visible to the left of the panel view. You can see part of the Tate's entrance doors faintly in the background.
TARA [knowing]: Oh...okay. Cool!
