Jones St., Chapter 6: Pages 23-24
Page 23, 5 Panels- Myers’ Apartment, Jones St., Las Vegas NV
Panel 1: We move to a shot of Tara a short time later, entering through the front door back home post-date; his face illuminated partially by the glow of lamp light off-panel. You can see a wide, proud smile plastered on his face alongside the tiredness of the evening as a whole visible in the rest of his body language.
Panel 2: Cut to a shot of Randall sitting on a recliner, watching TV before he heads off to bed itself. You can see the program in question on the screen (“The Handmaid’s Tale” on Hulu) to the upper left corner of the panel view, as well as a black leather couch next to it in the bottom left of the foreground.
RANDALL [looking over the top of the recliner, curious; to Tara]: Hey…how was the date?
Panel 3: Back to Tara as he rounds behind the living room area a few moments later, making his way to the right of the panel view in the direction of his bedroom. He glances over in his father’s direction with a look of hope in his eyes as he speaks. You can see shades of pink and blue and red emanating from the whole outline of the young man in the panel's view.
TARA [nonchalant, to Randall]: It was okay.
Panel 4: Cut to the next morning with Tara in his bedroom. He’s seated on the edge of his mattress, turning on his phone; he’s dressed in a gray and red T-Shirt with an emblem that is blocked by its protector case. You can see part of the Daredevil poster in the background, along with a framed map of the Neverwhere tube system immediately behind his head.
RANDALL [Off-Panel]: You think there may be a second date?
Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A handful of moments later, we see the young man starting to type away on the phone’s touchscreen keyboard in a non-hurried face; his face exhibiting the same level of hope that was on display at the top of the page.
TARA [Off-Panel]: Not sure yet...hope so.

Panel 1: A full-page panel that shows Tara’s phone screen just a moment after we left him at the end of the previous page. It’s a text screen with Melanie’s name at the very top of it. Just a little distance away from it, you can see the text he has just sent out- “Hey! Hope your day’s well. I forgot to tell you I had a really good time last night…just thought you should know that.”
