Jones St., Chapter 7: Pages 1-2

Page 1, 4 Panels- Flashbacks, Las Vegas NV

Panel 1: We open on a shot of Tara in the bookstore's cash register, tending to a customer whose back is turned to the reader at this point; the light of the morning sun coming in to the shot from off-panel right. You can see him looking down and to the left for a brief moment as he goes over to collect the change.

CAPTION: A Few Days Later

Panel 2: Cut to another frozen shot of Mr. Myers standing at Sif's, looking over the latest comic books that have come in that day. As was the case before in Panel 1, his eyes is down toward his pants in the direction of his phone. In the background, you can see various logos of Superman and Captain America and the Avengers as well as for other comic book properties like Saga and Steven Universe.

CAPTION: One Week Later

Panel 3-4: Cut to another pair of frozen shots of Mr. Myers. In Panel 3, he's wrapped up in his bedsheets, glancing over in the direction of the phone lying on the bedstand next to him. In Panel 4, Tara is standing fully dressed in his bathroom holding his phone in his right hand (which is still a little drenched from the shower water).

CAPTION [Panel 3]: Two Weeks Later CAPTION [Panel 4]: Three Weeks, Two Days Later TARA [Caption 2, Panel 4]: Did I do something wrong?

Panel 1: We move to an action shot a few moments later, showing Tara stepping out of the bathroom; his eyes still peeled on the screen of his phone, searching his messages once more. In the background, to the right of the panel view, you can see the bathroom door still open ajar.

TARA [thought bubble]: Was it something I said at the movies?

Panel 2: Cut to a shot of the two of them standing out in front of the theater screening in a very pleasant and happy mode. You can see a stream of other people leaving the theater at the same time in the background behind the centrally placed couple, along with the top of the electronic facade that reads "Wonder Woman."

TARA [caption]: No, I...don't think that's it.

Panel 3: Back to Tara in the same setting and layout as Panel 1. He shakes his head a brief moment to his own question; the setting behind him moves slowly to indicating the slow walking that was indicative in that prior panel.

TARA [thought bubble]: She would've mentioned it to me when it happened. She's probably just busy with work, that's why I haven't heard from here. Then again...

Panel 4: We move to a snapshot of the two of them seated at a Jimmy John's near the theater before the movie. The focus of the shot is primarily on Tara and Melanie enjoying an early dinner beforehand; you can see a handful of other people seated at tables around them, illuminated by the glow of halogen lights from the ceiling.

TARA [Off-Panel thought bubble caption]: No--Oh no! I think it may have been when I asked about...

Panel 5: Back to Tara in the present; the setting and layout around him the same as we saw in Panel 3. He stops moving at that point, looking squarely at the reader while the phone is down to his side. You can see a look of shock and embarrassment as the pieces to his question finally start to come together.

TARA [thought bubble]: Oh schnite...you stupid, stupid man! TARA [Off-Panel caption]: "My turn. Okay, um..."
