Jones St., Chapter 8: Pages 7-8

Panel 1: We move to a shot of Tara seated in front of a large rack of comic books, holding a plastic coffee cup with the words "Vanilla Chai" scribbled quickly in black felt marker on the visible side of it. He glances up toward the ceiling, bopping his head to the song playing at that time (which is the same one Melanie has on at the end of the previous page).
TARA [thought bubble]: I like this song...!
Panel 2-4: A three-part set of panels that shifts the layout to the side, putting Mr. Myers to the left of each panel. He sips the Chai latte, locked into a train of thought that manifests itself in the form of a spinning wheel that moves quickly as he skims the covers. You can also see, in each Panel, a dialogue box next to the wheel showing the reader where it landed.
DIALOGUE BOX [Panel 2]: It's a simple move. Just go right out and tell her, "I'm Asexual." TARA [thought bubble, Panel 2]: Have you seen my brain, dialogue box? Never in my life has that ever been a "simple" move. DIALOGUE BOX [Panel 3]: Then try to think up an ice breaker or two that can lead right into telling her, "I'm Asexual." TARA [thought bubble, Panel 3]: Not bad, but...feels like a rambling trap. And once I ramble, it's hard for me to stop without a little bit of effort. DIALOGUE BOX [Panel 4]: Alright, then go for the big stuff- Proclaim to her "I love you," and then tell her "I'm Asexual." TARA [thought bubble, Panel 4]: That one feels too creepy. Delete, ugh! DIALOGUE [Panel 4, Box 2]: Alright, you're on your own then- dumbass!
Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel; the wheel and the dialogue boxes from the previous panels are gone at this point. As he lifts the cup up to take another sip, his gaze is pulled slightly to the periphery by the sound of a "DING!" from off-panel left. You can see the parking lot outside in the background, along with other stores nearby. Amongst the cars, you can see Melanie's Toyota already parked in one of the spots to the right section of the area.

Panel 1: Cut to the entrance to the comic book shop a minute later. Melanie is standing in front of the partially opened doorway. She looks around and notices Tara where he's seated across the room, waving at him. You can see a handful of people around and behind her chatting, with comic books and other collectibles in bag, sidestepping the young woman to walk inside.
Panel 2: Back to Tara at the end of the shop a few beats later. He looks over and notices Ms. Haynes for the first time, waving back at her as she comes toward him; a similar smile coming over his face at the same moment.
Panel 3: Action shot of Melanie moving into place just across from Tara a minute later; her bag sliding off her arm and toward the far area next to her. She has a pleasant half-grin on her face as she speaks.
MELANIE [to Tara]: Hey...how's it going?
Panel 4: Back to Tara on the other side of the booth nodding slightly at the statement as he speaks; his eyes looking down toward the table as he picks up the cup, set to take another swig. You can see the brown leather padding of the booth behind him in the background.
TARA [to Melanie]: Everything's going well. At least, as well as can be expected in this country these days. How about you?
Panel 5: Back to Melanie, in a fully seated position, in the same setting/layout as Panel 3. Her hands are visible near her side in the bottom of the panel view; her face exhibiting a tinge of unease in regards to the question.
MELANIE: I'm alright. Sorry I haven't been there the past few weeks. I've been...a little busy with work, the app and the like. Hard to find much time for myself. MELANIE [narration caption]: Preparing Douchebag Defense alignment...
