INT. FLIGHT 2422- Hours Later, somewhere over Northern China

PANEL 1: Cut to a shot of a flight attendant standing in an aisleway at the same moment. You can see by the Emirates Airlines uniform she's wearing that we've returned to the present. In front of her is a large drinks cart filled with an assortment of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks on there. Behind her in the background is a section of the overhead compartments to the other side of the plane.

FLIGHT ATTENDANT [to Adam]: Anything to drink?

PANEL 2: Back to a side shot from the Flight Attendant's position of the adult Adam at his seat holding the Dr. Pepper bottle (little over 1/2 full) as he watches a movie on his iPad. He quickly shakes his head; one of the earbuds dangling from his ear in order to hear the question from the airplane worker. You can see a section of the early evening sky from the window nearby.

PANEL 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few seconds after his headshake, he sees something on the cart that catches his proverbial eye, eliciting a partial grin. For the first time, behind the iPad, you can see the head of his old Leonardo toy as it rests on his drop back table.

ADAM [to the Flight Attendant, curious]: Do you have any Kit Kat bars on the cart? I've been feeling a bit sleepy and could use the sugar fix.

PANEL 4: Back to the Flight Attendant who gives him a simple nod at the request. She moves her right arm over to the section where the candy is being held as she speaks.

FLIGHT ATTENDANT: Yes we do- only a couple though. ADAM [Off-Panel]: Nifty! I'll take one, please.

PANEL 5: Same setting and layout as Panel 2. In Panel 5, he nods in response to the price from the flight attendant. As he speaks, you can see his right hand start to slide off the table in the direction of his pockets.

FLIGHT ATTENDANT [Cont., Off-Panel]: $2.50, please.

PANEL 6: Cut to a frontal close-up of the young man moments later, reaching into the pockets of his pants in order to grab his wallet. You can see the back of the iPad, the Dr. Pepper, the Leonardo figurine, and his messenger bag in the bottom half of the panel view, shaken and moved as a result of the body movement.

ADAM [narration caption]: Well...so far so good. At least in Asperger's-adjusted terms for stuff like this.

PANEL 1: We move to a shot of him under a minute later, holding his wallet in his left hand. With his right one, he extends three separate dollar bills out to the flight attendant who is set to receive it.

ADAM [Cont. narration caption]: I can hear the jabber of the businessman talking some type of useless business-speak to his phone. That and the pungent vape aroma of the guy behind me, which is a mix between peaches and burnt oak ash. All without screaming in my brain or developing a deep distrust in humanity like I did on November 9, 2016.

PANEL 2: Cut to a shot of Mr. de Connick's hand a few seconds later, grabbing the chocolate bar from the Flight Attendant's grasp.

ADAM [Cont. narration caption]: For me? That's a nice win!

EXT. KEIO PLAZA HOTEL, TOKYO JAPAN- Three Days Ago

PANEL 3: We move to a morning crowd shot outside the Keio Plaza Hotel in the mid-morning. You can see the young man start to turn to the left where the entrance to the four star hotel happens to be located.

ADAM [narration caption]: Especially compared to what happened back in Tokyo a few days back.

PANEL 4-5: A two-part set of panels that starts in on Adam moments later as he's about to enter through the sliding glass doors. At the same moment, next to him going out is a woman around the same age as him dressed in modern clothes (albeit with a gleam). In Panel 5, as the woman passes, she turns around and yells in his direction while he's still in earshot.

WOMAN [surprised, to Adam; Panel 5]: Holy cyrantz, it--it's him, one of the Discarded! I completely forgot he was there. He's...not quite as cute as I thought he'd be. But still pretty cute.
