PAGE 17

PANEL 1: Cut to a shot of the roof of the plane moments later, shaking violently along with the rest of it. You can see the backs of the people's heads in the lower half of the panel view, trying to keep stable amidst the chaos.

PILOT [from the speaker]: Ladies and gentlemen, please remain calm...

INT. PILOT CABIN, FLIGHT 2422

PANEL 2: We move to a close-up of the pilot a moment later, struggling to keep the airplane stabilized; the setting around him shaking apart at the proverbial seams as he speaks. In the background, you can see some parts of the door that leads back out to the cabin.

PILOT [Cont., pretending to be in control]: We're going through some choppiness at the moment thanks to this low pressure system going through Leuven at the moment. It should clear up in a couple of minutes.

PANEL 3: We widen the scope to take in the Pilot (seated to the right of the panel view) and his Co-Pilot (seated to the left) a few minutes later. There's a sense of uneasy calm shared between the two of them, unsure if this is really the end or if something more is coming.

PILOT [relieved, slight smile]: Just as I hoped. Now, for those of you departing at Brussels, we should be arriving at Brussels Airport in about 15-20 minutes...

PANEL 4-5: A two-part set of panels that center on the same setting and layout as the previous panel. In Panel 4, they resume their business as the plane continues along on its path. Minutes later, in Panel 5, something pops up on the radar display that catches the younger Co-Pilot's attention, returning him to a state of anxiety. At the same moment, a beam of white light starts to enter the small looking cabin.

CO-PILOT [concerned, to Pilot; Panel 5]: Sir...I'm picking up something weird on the horizon coming right at us. PILOT [Panel 5]: Another low pressure system?

PANEL 6: Cut to a close-up of the Co-Pilot a second later, turning his head to the side to address his superior with an ever increasing set of anxiety. As he speaks though, the white light that was somewhat noticeable in the previous panel has grown in intensity, drowning out the rest of his dialogue.

CO-PILOT [shakes his head]: No, this one's different. It just popped up out of nowhere like a...

PANEL 1-3: A three-part set of panels that tracks the path of the light from the pilot's cabin through the plane, enveloping everyone in sight in a stationary energy field (represented in a yellow filter that permeates each panel).

PANEL 4: We move to a shot of the whole plane, elevated from the ceiling looking down, seemingly frozen in place; the details of the scene all but blurred out by the powerful yellow-white hue of the scene.

PANEL 5-6: A two-part set of panels that takes place outside, showing a before and after of the plane itself. In Panel 5, it flies over the tops of skyscrapers that can be seen in the bottom of the panel view. Then in the next panel, the buildings are gone and replaced by some section of hilly land somewhere over central California late at night.
