Golden Gate Comic Con, Chapter 1: Pages 25-26
PAGE 25
PANEL 1: Cut to Adam in the same setting/layout as Panel 5 of the previous page. He laughs at the comment, flashing a decently sized smile as he speaks; you can see a bit of a knowing touch to the words as well.
ADAM [to Owen]: Hahaha, agreed...though that may be more Shatner than Kirk. Hopefully the new movie will help do the character justice. OWEN [Off-Panel, scoffs]: HA!
PANEL 2-3: A two-part set of panels that move back to Owen in the same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. In Panel 2, he shakes his head with a high degree of disbelief at the note of optimism from his son. In Panel 3 though, his thought is interrupted by the onset of a brutal sounding cough; his head tilted down to the bed, still gripping his photos in hand.
OWEN [Cont., Panel 2]: That's part of Kirk's allure, the charming dickishness. Take that away, he's no better than Captain Arch...
PANEL 4: We move to a side shot taking in both the bed and the young Mr. de Connick's chair. He reaches over and awkwardly places his hand on his father's shoulder as he rides out the rest of the cough fit.
OWEN [wheeze, to Adam]: Sorry...I know how you get when it comes to physical contact. ADAM [caring, finishing the thought; to Owen]: True. But I always make exceptions for family, and for those I love. Besides...
PANEL 5: Slight close-up of Adam a few moments later. On his face, you can see the shift to caring to an apprehensive dread that lies subtextually underneath what he said stretching back to the previous panel; the eyes showing their first touch of teary red.
ADAM [Cont.]: I--I'm not sure how...how much longer we'll be able to--to, uh... OWEN [interjecting,Off-Panel]: I know. Son, I--I know.
PANEL 6: Back to Owen in the same setting/layout as Panel 3. As he speaks, you can start to see his head and the rest of his body start to slide back down the bed to a more normal bed resting position; the two autographed photos resting on his chest, gripped in both hands.
OWEN [Cont.]: The doctor says, if all goes well, I should be up and out of here in time to see the new Star Trek movie. But she told me that the next time I'm here, I probably won't be so lucky.

INT. AIRPLANE- BACK IN ADAM'S "PRESENT"
PANEL 1: Cut to an action shot of Adam stepping off the plane with his carry-ons through the sea of humanity that moves out of the plane after it's touched down. You can see the tinge of anxiety creeping up through his body, permeating each step he takes at that moment.
OWEN [Off-Panel caption]: It's okay to be sad. Part of me is sad, too. ADAM [Off-Panel caption 2]: Why?
INT. HALLWAY
PANEL 2-3: We move to another action shot a few moments later as he formally steps off the plane into the long hallway connecting it to the airport gate it's connected to, which we see more of in Panel 3. In between both panels, you can see the rush of people start to thin out slowly but surely as the available space to walk increases.
OWEN [Off-Panel caption, Panel 2]: The usual stuff. Not being able to eat another Krispy Kreme. Not getting a chance to see the Giants win a World Series. Not seeing Martin Scorsese finally win an Oscar. OWEN [Off-Panel caption, Panel 3]: At the same time though, I'm also kind of excited. ADAM [Off-Panel caption 2, Panel 3]: Excited?
PANEL 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel, minutes after the action of Panel 3. As before, it focuses squarely on young Mr. de Connick as the stream of people is more spread out compared to the top of the page.
OWEN [Off-Panel caption]: Yeah. Whatever the next life may bring me, I'm excited for the adventures and mysteries that'll come your way in the years to come.
PANEL 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. As he reaches the end of the hallway into the main gate, a glow filters down and hits him square in the face, highlighting the bewildered surprise that comes across the young man's face after seeing the mystery off-panel object at the end of the hallway.
OWEN [Cont. Off-Panel caption]: I have no doubt whatsoever that you're gonna do great. Same with your sister. ADAM [thought bubble]: Oookay...that explains it.
