Golden Gate Comic Con, Chapter 2: Pages 1-2
PAGE 1
INT. BONDS-JOBS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, SAN FRANCISCO
PANEL 1: We move to a shot of the very image that Adam saw once he stepped out onto the gate at the end of Chapter 1- a bright kaleidoscopic mix of people and stores and things that stretch out far into the distance. You can see a flight tracker board operating near the ceiling to the left of the panel view.
ADAM [Off-Panel thought bubble caption]: So...I'm a time traveler now. Was this what that weird note was going on about?
PANEL 2-3: A two-part set of panels that comprises of a set of action shots, following him as he moves past the gate toward a walkway are of the terminal a minute later. In Panel 2, he looks around in search of some area of information that he can use to his advantage. You can see in the background of Panel 2 someone wearing a Cleveland River Gnats T-shirt. In the middle of the search though, in Panel 3, Mr. de Connick's focus is interrupted by a booming voice emanating out of view from the top of the panel right to left.
ADAM [thought bubble, Panel 2]: Whatever. That part's not really important. First I gotta find out when in the future I'm now in and what's--
ADAM [ducking out of the way, Panel 3]: WHOA! TAITA [Off-Panel, Panel 3]: Hello there, weary traveler...
PANEL 4: Cut to a shot of a welcome drone (aka Taita) hovering above our protagonist; a hologram emerging from the top of the device, showing an image of the San Francisco skyline which looks similar to what we see in the present but with a higher grasp toward the sky; some of the skyscrapers appear to be covered with bright green vegetation.
TAITA [from the base of the drone]: Welcome to Bonds-Jobs International Airport. I am Taita, and I want to tell you about the fun things you can do here in San Francisco this fine Tuesday July 13, 2038. ADAM [Off-Panel, thought bubble]: Solves the first part...
PANEL 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The mechanical device travels a small distance in the scope of the scene, moving toward the right of the panel view. As for the image, it moves to a shot of a person in an armored version of the San Francisco Giants baseball uniform running after a groundball.
HERMES [Cont.]: If you're a baseball fan, the Giants are back at AT&T/Disney Park to start a three-game interleague series with the defending champion Cleveland River Gnats. First pitch is at 7:30 P.M. For those of you who are fans of classic music...
PAGE 2
PANEL 1: Back to an elevated shot of Adam once more in the same setting/layout as Panel 3 of the previous page, watching as the drone flies off further into the distance away from earshot as the faceless narrator continues; his hand gently rubbing the Leonardo figure to settle his nerves. He's already resumed his walking to the right of the panel view, turning his eyes back to ground level.
HERMES [Off-Panel]: Come see the Gods of Rock tour coming to the Herbst Theatre, featuring sets from Nirvana, The Beatles and The Who, starting at 8 P.M. Tickets are $75 (WARNING TO ANYONE SEATED IN THE FRONT ROW- There is a 40% chance of radiation leakage from the stage, so prepare accordingly...) ADAM [to himself]: Nirvana and the Beatles together- a tempting proposition...if I could afford it!
PANEL 2: Slight close-up back on the young man via ground level a few minutes later, along with the same action in his right hand. He looks around from side to side in search of some type of shop that'll fulfill his earlier need to find a newspaper. You can see the stream of people around him moving in both directions, which Adam ignores as best as he can.
ADAM [Cont.]: Besides, I still have to find out what the hell happened these past 20 years. Hopefully the Chronicle's still standing, and hasn't become some corporate shill that regurgitates anything from the...
PANEL 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A short time later, he stops; his eyes looking over off-panel left upon discovering something that he thinks could help. You can see a half-smile over the right side of his face as he speaks.
ADAM [excited]: BINGO!
PANEL 4: Cut to a shot of what he's seeing at the moment- a Newport News with a decent stream of people coming in and out at this point. Below the sign itself, in small letters, reads "A Division of Amazon." To the sides of the building, you can see a Walgreens (to the left) and a Best Buy Mobile (to the right, consisting mostly of a touch screen and a little carrier at the bottom like you'd find in a vending machine).
ADAM [Off-Panel]: Nice to know one of these things survives in the future...
PANEL 5: Action shot from the store's entrance looking out to the hallway, showing the young man moments later as he quickly walks over to the store to look inside. There's no indication of what's inside the store at this point. All we hear is the sound of music being played from the store's speakers.
INT. NEWPORT NEWS, BONDS-JOBS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT- MOMENTS LATER
PANEL 6: Cut to a shot of the cashier working at the same moment, reading something and not paying a great deal of attention to the people coming in and out. To the right of the young man with a somewhat shaggy looking beard is a machine with a red beam moving from side-to-side. You can see in the background an assortment of books on display from different authors as well as graphic novels and tourist-y knick knacks. All the while, the same music from the previous panel plays off-panel from the top of the panel view.
