Golden Gate Comic Con, Chapter 2: Pages 11-12
PAGE 11
PANEL 1: Back to the Worker once more in the same setting/layout as Panel 5 of the previous page, deep in the middle of the Translation work using his card. He glances over his shoulder toward Adam at this brief moment, letting his hands work to signify the expert familiarity he has with the whole process.
WORKER [Cont., to Adam]: I don't know if there's still tickets available. But think there's one of those pamphlets still on the rack, if ya want to find out more or...give it a shot.
PANEL 2: Cut to a close-up of a shelf of pamphlets. It's designed to handle five rows, though it only contains two of them- primarily tourist trap stuff and details about city landmarks. In the middle of these pamphlets, standing out amongst it, is the one for Golden Gate Comic-Con; its golden gate bridge logo prominently seen in that panel.
WORKER [Off-Panel]: Might as well find some use for the stupid paper garbage piles! ADAM [thought bubble]: Hmm...could be helpful, once I get situated.
PANEL 3-4: Action shot of Mr. de Connick, a minute later, grabbing one of the pamphlets from off the rack. In Panel 4, a short time later, he glances over to his right in the direction of the off-panel front desk to ask one last question. In the backgrounds of both panels, you can see a little more of the Currency Translation office space with (in the case of Panel 4) a person to the left just beginning to walk inside.
WORKER [Off-Panel, Panel 3]: I pulled up your account, and...wow, you've got a lot of money that popped into your account by interest. ADAM [Panel 3]: How much? WORKER [Off-Panel; Panel 3, Bubble 2]: About 600,000 PatCos. Lucky you! ADAM [Panel 3, Bubble 2]: Right...lucky me! ADAM [Cont. to Worker, Panel 4]: There's something else I'm curious about. Where's the information desk, if there is one? WORKER [Off-Panel, Panel 4]: Ha! We don't have an Information desk...
PANEL 5: Cut to a shot of a blue and ivory white colored droid rolling along the tiled floor past a few different people coming in and out of the sliding glass doors that are visible to the left of the panel view. It's roughly 4 feet in height and you can see, painted on the right side of the robot's chest, the words CD-70.
WORKER [Cont., Off-Panel caption]: We do have an Information droid though.
PANEL 6: Same layout as the previous panel, with a slightly different setting to signify the amount of distance the droid has made at this point. Though there's no evidence of how much time has elapsed; all we see there is the glow of street lights from outside. As for the droid, you can see a shadow start to get cast over the machine as it walks.
ADAM [to CD-70, Off-Panel]: Umm, hello...
PAGE 12
PANEL 1-2: A two-part set of panels that cuts back to Adam, standing in front of the robot over the course of a few moments. In Panel 1, his eyes do a quick cursory glance of the device for any type of data port or helpful button. In Panel 2, after the glance, the young man tries again with the line of question he went down earlier.
ADAM [thought bubble, Panel 1]: Is there a speaker I have to talk directly to? Maybe a special button that activates an AI circuit... ADAM [speaking, to CD-70; Panel 2]: Hello? I was told you were the airport's main info-- CD-70 [interjecting, Off-Panel; Panel 2]: Hello, weary traveler!
PANEL 3: Cut to the CD-70 in the same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. You can see a tablet emerge from the belly of the robot with three different choices popping up, which the robot describes.
CD-70 [Cont.]: I am a Courtesy Droid, designate CD-70, here to help out with all of your needs. Whether you're here for the day or coming back to the place you call home. Would you like to hear our menu options in English, Spanish, Puerto Rican, Portugese-- ADAM [interjecting]: English, please.
PANEL 4: Slight close-up on the touchscreen where we can see the options that were partially visible in the previous panel.
CD-70: Press option 1 to see a detailed listing of available hotel rooms within the Greater San Francisco area. Press option 2 to reserve a Lyft or Hermes ride, which you can find in the Arrivals gate to the west of the airport. Press option 3 to contact with a friend or family member who will help--
PANEL 5: Back to Adam once more in the same setting/layout as Panel 2. His eyes light up upon hearing that final option, cracking a slight half-smile. You can see his right hand moving in the direction of the tablet as he speaks.
ADAM: Perfect, perfect! Option 3...
PANEL 6-7: A two-part set of panels that moves back to the touchscreen in the same setting and layout as Panel 4. In Panel 6, with his hand moving back to his side, you can see the red square next to Option 3 lighted red. In the next panel, seconds later, a blank section opens up underneath a single statement- "State The Name and Phone Number of the Person/MAHuman You Wish to Contact."
CD-70 [Off-Panel, Panel 7]: State the Name and Phone Number of the Person/MAHuman You Wish to Contact.
