INT. VALENCIA STREET SERA MORTUARY- May 2018
PANEL 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page; the fuzzy electronic screen look in the shot is gone, and the setting looks perfectly realistic in terms of the design. We see Reggie in a smart TARDIS blue colored suit coat, glancing up to the ceiling as if remembering something.
REGGIE [Cont. nods in remembrance]: Yeah. It was March 2011, 'cause...we were looking for a Columnist for the Film section who had a Geeky type of voice, especially given the movies that were coming out that summer. From the moment I met him, I knew he was the perfect person for the job. A job that, believe it or not, he almost didn't get.
PANEL 2-3: A two-part set of panels that starts off in the same setting and layout as the previous panel. In Panel 2, she looks back out to the audience ready to resume on her previous train of thought. In the next panel, we see a brief cut of Adam in the future present looking on at the speech with a half-grin on his face; the background behind him filled with a collection of people who attended the ceremony then (including a young Amanda a few rows behind).
REGGIE [Panel 2]: I was in the office that day finishing up some paperwork on the last guy I interviewed. The next guy I was scheduled to interview that day was Adam, but he was a no-show for over an hour. I was set to move on to prepping for the next person I was considering when the phone rang. REGGIE [Cont., Off-Panel; Panel 3]: It was the security guard Ray. Apparently there was a young guy leaning silently against a wall of the lobby for over an hour clutching an action figure and muttering some "French-Mexican craziness" to himself. ADAM [knowingly, Panel 3]: Allons-y, mantente fiel a mi...
REGGIE [Off-Panel; Panel 3, Bubble 2]: He wanted me to come down to the lobby and see if I recognized the young man before he called the cops. I went out just out of curiosity and also a laugh, too...pass the time before the next applicant came in.
PANEL 4: Back to Reggie in the same setting and layout as Panel 2. A few moments have passed by since then, and we see her eyes go a little red with the glint of possible tears; an equally sombre grin coming over her face as she speaks.
REGGIE: It took me a few minutes, I'll admit, before I realized it was the same Adam I'd been looking for. It was also then that I learned about Autism for the first time, and...more about the inner filmography of Mel Brooks than even I knew about. Which if you've known me for any period of time is an extremely impressive feat.
AUDIENCE [Off-Panel]: HAHAHA....!
PANEL 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Though the passage of time between the two panels is not much, you can see her eyes grow a slightly deeper shade of red as she continues speaking.
REGGIE: We met back at the office for 20 minutes, and...I hired him on the spot. From there, after adjusting to his...unique eccentricities on some things, a 7-year-long friendship was born. One where we didn't talk for more than...probably 5 or 10 minutes at a time, most of it by me. The last time we talked, he was trying to angle an audition to be the new Film critic after Denny retired. Personally, I thought he was a little too young for the job. But I knew, in a few years, he would've been absolutely brilliant at it...I'm just sorry I won't be able to see it.

PANEL 1-2: A two-part set of panels that starts on a shot of Adam watching the speech as it reaches its conclusion; the layout of the background behind him is similar to the last time we saw him a few pages ago. In Panel 2, his gaze moves over toward the couch where Amanda is sitting, sparked by something said by Reggie.
REGGIE [Off-Panel, Panel 1]: I hope wherever he is right now...that he's enjoying the Monty Python/Gene Wilder mega-project we never got to see here on Earth. And that he saves me a seat when I get there! ADAM [chuckles, to himself; Panel 1]: Me too...and sorry in advance, if she's watching. REGGIE [Panel 1, Bubble 2]: Speaking of Python, here's something completely different. Amanda came by the office a few days back. She and her "other Dad" Richard wanted to do something special to represent her brother's life, and all the joy he ... ADAM [to Amanda over the remainder of dialogue, curious; Panel 2]: Should I be worried?
PANEL 3: Cut to Amanda seated on the couch looking back toward her brother with a defensively defusing manner in her voice. The background behind her is similarly made to the one in the previous panel, albeit from a different position in the funeral hall.
AMANDA [to Adam]: The singing wasn't bad. At least...I don't remember if it was.
PANEL 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few beats later, she turns her attention back to the screen staring up at the upper section of the front area; the action in the background staying relatively static in terms of action.
AMANDA [to Lexy]: Lexy, fast forward about nine minutes... ADAM [Off-Panel]: Why nine minutes? AMANDA [to Adam, Bubble 2]: You really wanna see four people move a podium, musical instruments, and some microphone equipment onto a stage?
PANEL 5-7: A three-part set of panels that moves to the front area that we saw back in the previous page, but moving in super fast time; the people quickly moving the pieces into place. In Panel 7, the rush stops and we see Amanda standing center stage in front of one microphone and Percy to her right holding an acoustic guitar playing a few opening notes to a song.
ADAM [Off-Panel, Panel 5]: ...Fair point! ADAM [Off-Panel, Panel 7]: Oh. Oh!...
