Golden Gate Comic Con, Chapter 3: Pages 23-24
PAGE 23
PANEL 1: Close-up on the young woman, MICHELE, a minute later emerging from the sea of humanity that was inside the plane. She looks over to her right at something off-panel, sighing when a ringtone pierces the silence that lingered from the end of the previous page.
PANEL 2: We move to a shot of a wristwatch-sized communicator with Michele's back to the reader; a holographic screen pops out of the center of the device, revealing her roommate JAXSON looking. He has light brown skin, just like Michele, with a shaved head.
MICHELE [slightly perturbed, to Jaxson]: Couldn't at least wait till I had some caffeine in me, Jax, or some bloody booze? JAXSON [to Michele, apologetic]: Sorry, Shel. But I got a message from Jakob, a producer over at the Beeb about the meeting last week.
PANEL 3: We move to a close-up on Michele's face a second later, suddenly intrigued by the tease from her friend. The background behind her is constantly in movement from right to left, showing her still in a good walking pace as she speaks.
MICHELE [hopeful]: Yeah? Don't hold out on me--anything good?!
PANEL 4: Cut to a similar looking close-up shot on Jaxson's face from the holographic area of the communicator; the background ever moving as was the case in the previous panel, showing the floor and other side of the terminal. There's a clear look of disappointment and sadness on his face as he speaks.
JAXSON [shakes his head]: He thought you were good, but the bosses at BBC Two had some apprehensions about adding a woman on-camera full-time for an eSports event. Something about how they feared you'd become a target for harassment, and probably a fear you'll sue 'em for sexism!
PANEL 5: Back to Michele's face in the same setting and layout as Panel 3, along with the same changing background that was visible then. The look on the young woman's face has shifted from one of hope to an unsurprised disappointment/dejection in regards to the decision.
MICHELE [through gritted]: He actually said that? JAXSON [Off-Panel]: Nah. Just filling in context what other peeps in the media have done. MICHELE [Bubble 2]: Still, annoying...and unbloodysurprising! JAXSON [Off-Panel]: Agreed. On the plus side, the ad numbers on the Youtube page have been pretty strong this month.

PANEL 1-2: A two-part set of panels that both focus on the same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. In Panel 1, she rolls her eyes at the rest of the explanation without displaying a rude dismissal of the (factual) statement. In the next panel, a few seconds later, a sudden "BRRINGG!" pops into view from the lower right corner of the panel.
JAXSON [Cont., Off-Panel; Panel 1]: Plus the strength of the Twitch page- We'll be fine in the short term till another opportunity pops up- maybe one will pop up Stateside while you're there for the Con.
MICHELE [scoffs, to Jaxson; Panel 1]: What, and live in the States full-time? Ha! I'll take the culture, free health care and glorious Lion bars over this glittering radiation pile. Save for a few except... JAXSON [curious, Off-Panel; Panel 2]: What is it? MICHELE [knowing, Panel 2]: E-Mail from the Hermes...my ride to Alphabet's coming in about 10 minutes.
PANEL 3: Cut to Jaxson in the same setting and layout as Panel 4 of the previous page. He nods at the statement, watching her as she speaks; the pace of the changing background increasing compared to what we saw at the top of the page.
JAXSON: Alright, I'll leave ya to it. Enjoy the Con...
PANEL 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Just before hanging up, there's another thought that pops up into his head that he wants to mention then and there. As in Panel 3, the background moves with the same speed as earlier.
JAXSON [Cont.]: Oh, and don't forget to get one of those cool Captain Britain Funkos if you can find 'em. MICHELE [Off-Panel]: I won't...
PANEL 5-6: A two-part set of panels that, in Panel 5, shifts to a rear shot of Ms. Michele finishing the chat and just about to hang up. She's heading over to a descending escalators, passing one of the courtesy droids as it moves from left to right in the panel view. In Panel 6, as she fades from the reader's view, you can see a poster emerge from view of the logo for Golden Gate Comic Con (the Bay Bridge, red and orange and black, with the shadowy visages of different superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Superman, Wonder Woman, America Chavez, The Flash, Batman) with the dates July 16-19, 2038 below it.
MICHELE [Cont., Panel 5]: See ya in a week or so, buddy! JAXSON [Panel 5]: See ya!
