Golden Gate Comic Con, Chapter 4: Pages 5-6

PAGE 5

PANEL 1: Cut to Amanda a few moments later, glancing over in her friend's direction with a clever look on her face; her hands gripped on each side of the box marked "Graphic Novels- Non DC/Marvel" on the side. You can see part of another house on the other side of the street in the background.

AMANDA [retort, to Brit]: Or the boring Nice Guys I spent a good chunk of my 20s on who say they like strong women, but really want a mix between Blue Ivy and a passive tHumper Bot. BRIT [Off-Panel]: Ain't that the truth...

PANEL 2: We move back to Brit on the other end of the boxes, grabbing another one labeled "Bedsheets/Funko! Pops" on the side of it. She laughs out loud at the statement, flashing a bright smile that is touched with a degree of flirtation in her words; her hands just touching the top of the box as she speaks.

BRIT [Cont. suggestive, to Amanda]: The offer still stands to join the throuple- Karen absolutely adores you, and she's perfectly onboard with the idea.

PANEL 3: Back to Amanda in an action shot moments later; the setting and layout behind her is similar to what we saw in Panel 1. With her hands firmly gripped on both sides of the box, she looks over at her friend with an equally suggestive (but also slightly apprehensive) look on her face compared to Brit in Panel 2.

AMANDA: I've thought about it the past few weeks and--I think I'm ready to go down that road with you guys. But first, I'd...rather wait to come out to my daughter and my brother before we get into the details of the arrangement and what it'd look like.

BRIT [Off-Panel]: They don't know?

PANEL 4: Cut to Brit a few steps away from the thinning group of boxes, waiting for her friend (visible in the upper right area of the panel view) to move alongside her. She appears to have a good idea about the context of Ms. de Connick-Walsh's statement, though there are parts of it that she needs a little deeper explanation.

BRIT [Cont. a little surprised]: You're worried either of them are gonna hate you or look at you negatively 'cause you're bi, or...? AMANDA [immediate scoff, shaking her head]: Not at all. I only really stepped into my sexuality a little over a year ago, and...

PANEL 5: We move to a shot of Adam emerging from the opened doorway a few moments after the tail end of this page's whole scene. He's looking on at the two of them, hands in his shorts pockets, with a sweet half smile on his face as he watches the two friends talk it out.

AMANDA [Cont., Off-Panel]: Since they're both on the Spectrum, I wanna be sure that I do it right and not accidentally send them off into a meltdown. BRIT [Off-Panel]: That's understandable... ADAM [thought bubble]: They look sweet together. I wonder if the family thing Brit was talking about was because they were, or are, a couple. Not my place to pry though...

INT. MICHELE'S HOTEL ROOM, ALPHABET ARMS- Afternoon

PANEL 1: We move to a shot of Michele later in the day, standing in the doorway of her room looking inside. She's dressed in the same outfit that she had on when we first saw her at the end of Chapter 3; her luggage gripped in both hands. You can see a section of the hallway where her room's located in the background, along with the red and white of the room's wallpaper to either side of the panel view.

ADAM [Cont., caption]: "She'll tell me at her own pace." MICHELE [sighs, weary]: Sugar...wearing off...

PANEL 2-4: A three-part set of panels that moves to a side shot of the young woman slowly making her way over to the bed, letting go of each case in the first two panels. By the time we reach Panel 4, she drops like a bag of potatoes onto the edge of the mattress. In each of the panels, you can see bit-by-bit a layout of the high-tech (yet still modest) looking room that she's calling home.

MICHELE [Cont., increasingly weary; Panel 2]: Must...reach bed... MICHELE [Panel 3]: Before...going...to sluuhhh SOUND EFFECT [Panel 4]: THUMMPCREEAK!

PANEL 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. We see her in the same position on the bed, snoring in the throes of lovely sleep. You can see the sun start to change positions off-panel from the window area, shading the young woman in bits of yellow and orange. Outside of the snoring, you can also hear what appears to be some type of beeping muddled by her body.

CAPTION: Forty Minutes Later

PANEL 6: A few moments later, we move to a slight close-up on Michele as she moves to her side; her gaze looking down in the direction of the beeping, which we see is coming from the base of her wrist. You can see a section of the room's wall in the background along with part of the ceiling fan.

MICHELE [to the beeping, clicking on a button on her wrist as she speaks]: I know, I know!
