Golden Gate Comic Con, Chapter 4: Pages 25-27

PAGE 25

PANEL 1: Cut to a shot of the little FitBit-like device wrapped around her right wrist where Lil Jarvis' main software is located. From the 3-D display, a red battery warning light comes into view.

LIL JARVIS [Cont., to Michele]: Apologies. Going to--Snooze mode. Need to--conserve power--before you can get me to the charger back in the hotel. MICHELE [Off-Panel, to Lil Jarvis]: I can still access Pandora, right? LIL JARVIS [Bubble 2]: Of--course!

PANEL 2: We move back to a shot of Michele's face, reacting to the command with respect and calm; her body shifting back to a standard seated position as she speaks. You can see a section of the wall to her cell behind her in the background.

MICHELE [to Lil Jarvis]: Then no worries, man. You did well...

INT. BUS- A Short Time Later

PANEL 3: Cut to a shot of Adam sitting in a window seat just a short distance from the Mission station. He's holding the Cookie that Po gave him a few pages back, observing it in his own little bubble of thought. You can see the fronts of a few heads in the background from the seat behind him.

MICHELE [Cont., caption]: All that's left tonight is to head back to the hotel, chill with some chili nachos and Colbert before heading to sleep.

ADAM [thought bubble]: Kinda weird to see the bulk of your professional life, what you aspired to be since you were 11, all placed in something the size of an Oreo. No, not weird...nostalgic?

PANEL 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. He lowers the electronic device to his lap, and shifts his gaze to the left of the panel view; his mind still in the inner thought that was prevalent in Panel 3.

ADAM [Cont., thought bubble]: Whatever emotion it is, it's certainly necessary. Gotta have something for the future bosses to look at during job interviews I go to in the future (if there are newspapers who are even hiring).

PANEL 5-6: A two-part set of panels that starts out in the same setting and layout as the previous panel. In Panel 5, he turns his gaze out in front of him at somewhere on the sidewalk in front of the bus. Then, in Panel 6, the setting shifts to a nondescript Editor's office sometime in the future; Adam is dressed in a somewhat formal interview outfit, holding the Cookie nervously in his left hand and Leonardo in his right hand.

ADAM [thought bubble, Panel 5]: There's an anxiety trigger if I ever saw one. Not to mention explaining the work history gap to any potential editor or new boss. At least something better than-- ADAM [to Editor, Panel 6]: I was flung through a time vortex portal...thingy forward to 2038 from 2018. ADAM [narration caption, Panel 6]: Yeah. I'm not looking forward to any of that.

PAGE 26

PANEL 1: Back to the bus as it comes to a stop a few moments after the action in Panel 5 of the previous page. He glances up a little higher than he did in that aforementioned panel toward some type of billboard nearby. You can see some of the people in the seat behind him engaged in separate conversations or chatting with other people through some type of communicator device.

ADAM [thought bubble]: Thankfully, there's the Con and the three days of sweet distraction to keep my mind at ease.

PANEL 2: Cut to a shot of the billboard itself, which is advertising the upcoming Golden Gate Comic Con. Underneath the logo and dates (which we already saw back in Chapter 2), you can see the lineup of people set to attend which includes Daisy Ridley, Sonequa Martin-Green, and "Ben Grimm Himself" Sergio Perez-Mencheta.

ADAM [Cont., narration caption]: Oh hells, the tickets! Are they even valid anymore, 'cause of the time warp? Gotta relax...gotta relax somehow....

PANEL 3: Back inside the bus, the young man's train of thought is interrupted by the sound of Huey Lewis and the News' "Power of Love" playing over the bus' speakers. A faint grin comes over part of his face upon hearing the melodies.

ADAM [smiling, to his Dads]: Thanks, Dads...!

EXT. SIDEWALK OUTSIDE SFPD MISSION DISTRICT OFFICE- Moments Later

PANEL 4: Cut to a shot of Michele coming out of the office minutes after we last left the young woman. She's wearing a pair of wireless headphones, and is listening to the same song that Mr. de Connick's listening to in the previous panel. In the background, you can see the glow of what appear to be headlights coming toward her.

SINGER [from the headphones]: Don't need money, don't take fame Don't need no credit card to ride this train

PANEL 5-6: In Panel 5, we move to a side shot of Ms. McKinney coming to a stop on a crosswalk nearby still listening to the song; the headlights from the oncoming vehicle coming further into view from left to right in the panel view. In Panel 6, it stops and we see Adam come into view from one of the windows. He looks at Michele and smiles nonchalantly, regarding the attractiveness of the young woman, though she doesn't look back.

SINGER [from the headphones, Panel 5]: It's strong and it's sudden and it's cruel sometimes But it might just save your life SINGER [Cont., Panel 6]: That's the power of love...

PAGE 27

PANEL 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. As the bus drives off out of view, Michele lets out a sigh which is connected to her feelings regarding the song. You can still Adam from the window in the background, but he's returned to his own train of thought at this point.

MICHELE: Skip to the next song, please...

PANEL 2: Action shot from the rear showing the young woman from the rear, a few beats later, moving past the cross walk back in the direction of a Hermes station that happens to be in view a handful of blocks away. From the comm, the song changes up to the next song with a more hard rocking beat on her playlist.

MICHELE [Cont.]: Adamantium Pixies...nice!!
