Golden Gate Comic Con, Chapter 5: Pages 11-12

PAGE 11

PANEL 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. He's picked up the tablet, and is just about to unlock the screen, focused on any type of button or app that may come at that moment, when a voice comes from off-panel left.

QUINN [Off-Panel, to Adam]: Drop the tablet, slightly melted Drumstick...

PANEL 2: Cut to a shot of an opened doorway, showing the person in charge of the office QUINN steppping out. She's a few years younger than Adam is, dressed in a type of fashion that would be more at home with someone from 2016. You can see part of an ivory white wall and a light from above in the break room in the background.

ADAM [correcting, to Quinn]: Actually, I'm part Mexican on my mother's side... QUINN [annoyed interjection]: Don't care, man.

PANEL 3: Slight close-up on Quinn's face a few moments later, glancing over in Mr. de Connick's direction, crossing toward her out of view desk at this point. You can see a section of the darker yellow-gray colored wall behind her in the background.

QUINN [Cont., straight to business]: What brings you here, trying to backdoor your way into another section of the company?

PANEL 4: Back to a shot of Adam in front of the desk a few moments later; the tablet placed back down on the desktop a short distance away. With his right hand, he opens the flap to the manila envelope in order to take out the tickets inside.

ADAM [scared]: I'm not trying to steal from you guys. I--I--I got tickets awhile back for the Con as--as, uh--as a birthday present. But I couldn't remember whether or not they were for the whole weekend or if it was just one day. I was in the area, so...

PANEL 5: Back to a shot of Quinn in the same setting and layout as Panel 3. She doesn't appear to be all that convinced by the rambly explanation the young man gave him in the previous panel. Out of view, you can hear the soft thud of Adam's tickets hit the desktop as she speaks.

QUINN: You could check all of that on the website, ya know. Doesn't really disprove my original robbery theory...

PANEL 6: We move back to Adam in the same setting and layout as Panel 4 along with the same background. At that moment, a large bolt of anxiety hits the young man, fearing what the woman from the future will do once she knows about his backstory.

ADAM [stammering]: Well, um...I--I mean... QUINN [chuckle, Off-Panel]: I'm just messing with you. Relax... ADAM [thought bubble]: ...Really?!

PANEL 1-2: A two-part set of panels that moves back to Quinn in the same setting and layout as Panel 5 of the previous page. In Panel 1, she picks up the tickets from the desktop while still looking in Adam's direction. Then in Panel 2, she glances at the tickets and immediately notices something off in what she's seeing.

QUINN [Cont., to Adam; Panel 1]: So few people actually come into this place, when they do, I get a little bit excited. Sometimes too ex... QUINN [concerned, Panel 2]: Ohh...interesting.

PANEL 3: Cut to Adam in the same setting and layout as the end of the previous page. He tries to keep a straight face given the situation in front of him, though you can see a flurry of metaphorical warning lights and blaring Klaxons which signify his anxiety going into another gear.

ADAM [stammering, to Quinn]: Wh--Wh--What is it?

PANEL 4: Back to Quinn in the same setting and layout as Panel 2. She's holding one of the tickets and is examining the bottom edge of it carefully; her face displaying the same type of worried concern over what she's seeing without actually hinting what it may be.

QUINN: There's a typo on these tickets, did you know? ADAM [Off-Panel]: Huh... QUINN [Bubble 2]: Yeah. The year printed on 'em says 2018 when it should say 2038...not the first time something like this happens with someone's Con ticket.

PANEL 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A second later, Quinn reaches out with her free hand in the direction of the tablet which is placed within grabbing distance; her eyes focused once more at Mr. de Connick to finish the rest of her thought.

QUINN [Cont.]: Luckily, I can use the QR code to access the initial order. From there, I can print up a new copy with the original timeline on them, which is...
