Golden Gate Comic Con, Chapter 5: Pages 19-20

PAGE 19

PANEL 1: Cut back to Jenny in the same setting/layout as Panel 5 of the previous page. She lets out a brief chuckle, reminiscing about the story connected to her friend's statement from the end of the previous page.

JENNY [knowing and explanatory, to Jenny]: I know that all too well, my dear. But my Biblical originalist neighbors already aren't the biggest fans of our romantic arrangement. Or basically any relationship that isn't straighter than a 3 Musketeers bar.

PANEL 2-3: A two-part set of panels that moves back to Michele in the same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. In Panel 2, as she fires back on Jenny's statement, she raises her vodka glass up in order to take a sip. In Panel 3, a second after doing so, she drifts the glass back to its previous place near the plate of food.

MICHELE [understanding, to Jenny; Panel 2]: And you guys don't wanna give the sad pricks the satisfaction of calling the cops and knocking you on some stupid Indecency citation. JENNY [Off-Panel, Panel 2]: The Tl;dr version, pretty much. MICHELE [compromising, Panel 3]: Fair enough. If we get in the mood, we can always put on some Fogey Rock...make 'em think it's just some retirees Air BNB'ng and having a party.

PANEL 4: We move back to Jenny in the same setting and layout as Panel 1. She chuckles at the plan, giving a slight nod in regards to the potential usefulness of the plan though not without a touch of doubt that shows up in what she says. She's seen grabbing the last part of the quesadilla with her hand as she speaks.

JENNY: That could work. Problem is a friend of theirs may walk by the house, spot us through the window, and squeal to them. Which given the kinds of friends they have is a realistic fear to have. MICHELE [Off-Panel]: Yeah...we'll find a way to make it work if that GNASing feeling pops up.

PANEL 5: Same setting as the previous panel, but with a wider layout to taken in the presence of the waiter who is standing in front of the table to the right of the panel view. They're holding a small tablet in their hands, glancing in the two ladies' directions for the response to their question.

WAITER [to Jenny and Michele]: You guys finished with your meals? JENNY [nods, to Waiter]: Yep, we are. WAITER [Bubble 2]: Any thoughts about dessert, or do you guys just want the check?

PANEL 6: Cut to a shot showing the two friends at the table a few moments later. Michele leans over toward Jenny, giving the waiter enough room in order to do the proper bussing of the plates; a look of excitement and yummy enjoyment to come.

JENNY [to Michele, laying the scene out]: I know that look, sweet Shells. The concert's in half an hour. If we wanna find a ride and a good spot in the front row, we should leave now. MICHELE [nonchalant, to Jenny]: That's enough time for ice cream nachos. Especially with those Neapolitan sprinkles they put on them... MICHELE [Cont., Bubble 2]: Besides, I checked the Hermes app a few minutes back. The rides are bountiful, and traffic nonexistent up to the park. As for the front row spot, well--I've never been one to shy away from beating some ass. JENNY [Bubble 2]: Okay, okay...10 minutes max, then we box it and bolt. MICHELE [Bubble 3]: Coolio!

PAGE 20

PANEL 1: Close-up on Jenny's face a few moments later. She breaks from the mini huddle they had at the end of the previous page, turning her attention to the restaurant worker to make their order. You can see part of the back of a chair in the background from a nearby table in the area.

JENNY [to the Waiter]: We'll take a bowl of Ice Cream Nachos with Neapolitan sprinkles. Hot fudge on the side--

PANEL 2: We move to a similar looking close-up on Michele's face a second later, chiming in with her own part of the equation; an excited half-grin upon her face as she speaks. You can see a table away from her in the background.

MICHELE [chiming in, to the Waiter]: Strawberry sauce, too. Can't have ice cream nachos without strawberry sauce!

PANEL 3: Back to Jenny in the same setting/layout as Panel 1. She glances over in her friend's direction from the periphery, nodding in agreement at the sentiment, while still finishing out the rest of the order.

JENNY [agreeing, to Michele]: Good call. The strawberry sauce is amazing... JENNY [Bubble 2, to the Waiter]: Strawberry sauce, too, alongside the fudge.

PANEL 4-5: A two-part set of panels that moves to a shot of the waiter, calmly typing up the order on their tablet in Panel 4 with the same calm pace as they've done with dozens of other tables during their shift. In Panel 5 though, a few beats later, there's a slight change connected to a new development that flashes on the computer screen.

WAITER [to Jenny and Michele, Panel 4]: Excellent, I'm a big fan of the nachos myself! They should be out in about 5... WAITER [correcting, but still with the same confidence as before; Panel 5]: No, make it--15 minutes.

PANEL 6: Cut to a shot of Jenny and Michele as the Waiter finishes the rest of their statement. We see Jenny shooting an annoyed "Told you this would happen!"glance over at Michele's direction, who responds with a silent "Don't worry about it...we'll make it!" look in response.

WAITER [Cont., Off-Panel]: Sorry 'bout that...certainly worth the wait, in my book!
