Golden Gate Comic Con, Chapter 8: Pages 3-4

PAGE 3

PANEL 1: Cut to a slight close-up of the two of them from the end of the previous page. He's dropped his lone bag that he had with him, and has grabbed the CamDrone by both sides down to his eye level.

ADAM [angry, to the CamDrone]: I thought I told you, Ms. Chen. I'm not a big fan of being rushed into deciding something... CAMDRONE [interjecting, from a speaker in the front of the drone; to Adam]: Who's Ms. Chen? I have no idea what you're talking about. I--I'm just getting people's opinion on Malia Obama being tapped to direct the Supergirl reboot.

PANEL 2-3: A two-part set of panels that shifts the P.O.V. of the shot to the lense of the drone's camera, recording Adam's response. In Panel 2, letting go of its plastic sides, he moves to picking his bag up off the floor again. In the next panel, his back is turned and heading over to the front desk that is visible in the distance in the background.

ADAM [calmer and with honesty, Panel 2]: A bit of a surprise choice, but...she'll probably be awesome at it. ADAM [thought bubble, Panel 3]: Note to self- find out more about that Supergirl reboot. Anyway...

PANEL 4: We move to a shot of the front desk a minute later as the young man finally arrives. He looks over to the right in search of the Agent who happens to be working there, be they human or...whatever.

ADAM [Cont., thought bubble]: I wonder what the Front Desk Agent's gonna look like here? Shapeshifting plastic AI...another hologram, maybe. From what I've seen since I got to the future, having 'em be human would be a pretty nice change of pace, like with Po (though not as borderline annoying). Hell, human-ish would be cool too.

PANEL 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few beats later, Mr. de Connick is slightly startled by the sight of a massive touch screen tablet that seemingly emerges from the base of the desk.

MR. CARSON [from the screen, to Adam]: Hello, sir... ADAM [thought bubble]: Okay, that I did not expect.

PAGE 4

PANEL 1: Cut to a shot of the aforementioned tall tablet screen, showing a perfect computer generated image of Mr. Carson from "Downton Abbey" next to the general main menu. On his left lapel, you can see a pin with the Alphabet Arms logo on it.

ADAM [Cont., Off-Panel thought bubble]: But it's kinda perfect, at the same time. MR. CARSON [assertive, to Adam]: Welcome to Alphabet Arms. I'm Mister Carson, your digiDoorman. Make your selection on the menu to your right. And if this is a robbery attempt, you have three seconds to run away before I will be forced to dispatch you with a powerful taser that will knock you unconscious until the gendarmes arrive.

PANEL 2: Back to a shot of Adam in the same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. The statement from Panel 1 leaves the young man perplexed, wishing for a little more information to fill in the cracks. In the background, you can see someone drunkenly stumbling into the hotel/apartment building after a night out.

ADAM [curious, to Mr. Carson]: You seriously have a taser in there?

PANEL 3: Back to Mr. Carson in the same setting/layout as Panel 1. With a thoroughly incredulous look on his face, a long metal barrel slides out from a circular port located underneath the massive tablet.

MR. CARSON [annoyed retort]: I never lie, sir. I also do not miss!

PANEL 4-5: A two-part set of panels that goes back to Mr. de Connick in the same setting/layout as Panel 2. In Panel 4, he chuckles nervously at the question, thinking it was some type of joke. In Panel 5, the young man realizes (thanks to the sound of electrical charging from the barrel) the CGAI is being truthful and moves his right hand to the screen. In each panel, you can see the remainder of the action between the CamDrone and the drunk, ending in a minor scuffle in the background of Panel 5.

ADAM [thought bubble, Panel 4]: Mr. Carson as action hero- I kinda envy the creative weirdness of whoever made this. MR. CARSON [Off-Panel, Panel 4]: Robbery attempt has been surmised as taking place due to lack of action. Initiating countermeasures in three...two... ADAM [hurried, Panel 5]: Okay okay...!
