Golden Gate Comic Con, Chapter 8: Pages 19-20
PAGE 19
PANEL 1-2: A two-part set of panels that follows roughly the same pattern that the end of Page 18 followed, at least when it comes to Panel 1; the total now at 1,200. In Panel 2, one of the male competitors clocks her with a long bow staff to the ribcage as the total reaches 1,500.
PANEL 3: We move to a close-up of Ms. McKinney, bloodied and bruised as a result of the fight that started at the end of the previous page. She clutches her stomach as she gets back to her feet; her eyes focused on the glow in the distance, signifying here the potential closeness of the Gauntlet.
MICHELE [to herself]: I'm close...Just gotta keep fighting a little while longer, and...
PANEL 4: In a full-body shot of the young woman moments later, just as she gets back to her feet (the total to the upper right now at 15,000), you can see a massive axe plunged deep into her chest by one of the competitors (who looks like Golden Calf Douche) suddenly descending into the scene like Thor at the end of "Avengers: Infinity War." Above her, in the same '90s Street Fighter-esque font is the words "Trust Funder Middle Finger Combo!"
BOOMING FACELESS VOICE: TRUST FUNDER MIDDLE FINGER COMBO!
PANEL 5: Cut to a shot of Michele a few moments later, falling down to her knees in the last burst of life before the metaphorical death that is losing out on the Gauntlet; the blood slowly trickling down her stomach from her chest. Above her head, in the same font as the previous panel, is the words "Fatality!"
BOOMING FACELESS VOICE: OPTIMIST FATALITY MICHELE [frustrated]: Son of a bitch...! JENNY [Off-Panel caption]: An uber rich guy comes in out of nowhere and snipes your best bid- as dickish as it is, it's technically not against illegal. MICHELE [Bubble 2]: I know. It's just...hard to lose to that one.

INT. POP-UP BAR WITH NO NAME- A Short Time After the Auction
PANEL 1: Cut to the two of them sitting down at a booth in the Pop-Up Bar with No Name, enjoying drinks and a plate of cheesy nachos. Michele is seated to the right of the panel view; a sizable metal ball placed next to her, visible from the top of the table. Jenny is seated to the left of the panel view, already chewing through a mouthful of nachos that she had between her last bit of dialogue and now.
JENNY [reassuring, through full mouth; to Michele]: There'll be other auctions to come. It sucks now, but-- MICHELE [correcting, to Jenny]: It's not that. It's more about the person that I lost to. Also, a little bit of karma, too. JENNY [confused, through full mouth; to Michele]: What do you mean? MICHELE [Bubble 2]: Well, that uber rich guy who pulled the Thor on Thanos move on me- he was the same one I kicked in the balls at the Con Launch party for trying to feel me up.
PANEL 2-3: A two-part set of panels that consist of a pair of reaction shots, zooming in closely on Jenny's face. In Panel 2, we see her reacting to the bit of news from the previous panel. Then, in Panel 3, she tilts her head slightly up and laughs out loud; chunks and bits of the food coming out of her mouth in little white bits.
JENNY [stunned, Panel 2]: No shit- that was him?
PANEL 4: Cut to a shot of Michele a moment later, nodding slightly at the humor behind the event with a grin connected to it; the laughing from the previous panel reaching its crescendo before settling down. As she speaks, you can see her right hand moving over to her little over half-full drink.
MICHELE: Yeah. At least I got something cool out of the auction...
PANEL 5-6: A two-part set of panels that focus on the same setting and layout as the previous panel. With the drink in hand, in Panel 5, she reaches over and presses a button off-panel on the metal ball seated next to her. In Panel 6, as the ball (a version of E.V.A. smaller than the comics version) hovers into view, her attention is pulled by the sound of sudden commotion coming from a different part of the Bar at the same moment.
MICHELE [Cont., Panel 5]: On the plus side, I could probably do what I was thinking for the Gauntlet with this one. JENNY [Off-Panel, Panel 5]: You could also use it to deal with guys trying to hit on you on the street. MICHELE [Panel 5, Bubble 2]: Oh definitely! All I need to do is scour Youtube for some of DIY tutorials on installing Proxtasers on round surfaces, and-- COSPLAYER [Off-Panel, Panel 6]: Get back here, asshole!
