Ghost Signals, Episode 3: Part 3.3
Steggy glances down at her feet and notices the alcohol bottle rolling on the ground, stopping within a few millimeters of touching her. She grabs it and places it on the table behind her before speaking.
STEGGY (Cont.) What do you usually drink or eat after getting knackered?
RAIVEN Umm... (rubbing the side of her head, thinking) Binari. I usually have a strong glass of Binari with cubes.
STEGGY Binari...okay. (stands up, looking over her shoulder) I think the Kyook should be able to mix up a glass of that. Two, if needs be.
She disappears in the same poof effect that we saw earlier, leaving the Doctor to recuperate.
CUT TO:
The CGAI appearing moments later in front of the aforementioned Kyook device- a gray colored vending machine with a touchscreen on top of it as well as what appears to be a door to the side of it for whatever is created. Steggy soon gets to work on the order as her friend speaks.
RAIVEN
(V.O.) So...any non-Military worries pop up on radar?
STEGGY Nothing we really need to worry about at present. Just rocks and junk containing unknown metal alloys floating around.
RAIVEN (V.O.) No pirates or secret Alliance probes tracking us?
STEGGY (shakes her head) Just us and the silent nothingness of space... (finishes the order) Not to mention Whatever the hells is waiting for us at the end of this path of yours.
RAIVEN (looks over her shoulder) I just realized- I've never gotten your thoughts on the experiment. Or the journey as a whole.
STEGGY (as the drink emerges) I helped plan this whole burglary escapade, didn't I? In my view, that's proof enough my thoughts on the matter.
RAIVEN I know, I know. That's not quite my meaning. I'm...I'm just curious what you think might be the end result of all this. If we'll actually meet these peeps who made the Ghost Signals.
STEGGY Ohh...
There's a pause, and we see Steggy grab the drink tray with both hands. As she answers, she then shifts it to her left hand and walks back toward Raiven.
STEGGY (Cont.) Hadn't really thought about it. Logically, it's possible. If we do, they'll likely be ugly and/ or mentally disjointed, given what we saw in the Signals.
RAIVEN (grabs the drink, slight grin) Fair point. I wouldn't mind seeing one of those Gots in the flesh. They seemed rather adorable- and could serve as a useful Guard pet, depending on what it feels about what passes for males in this flarking flurry of madness we call a galaxy. (takes a drink)
STEGGY (placing the tray on the table) I wouldn't mind seeing this Brigitte Bardot. A definite looker from what I spied, especially--
Her thought is halted by a red beacon that pops up on her left wrist. Steggy presses it, revealing a little pop-up window containing a message from the Athena-5's scanners.
STEGGY (as she reads it) Our good fortune's donezo- picking up a TA ship zooming at us from the south.
RAIVEN How big?
STEGGY 40 metros wide by roughly...23. 7 metros high. It's about the same dimensions of an Attacker, but it doesn't have the same MDC layout or weapons as an Attacker.
RAIVEN (standing up, holding drink glass) A custom job? The TASF are purely factory. They don't let pilots stray from the script like that-- (starts walking to door)
STEGGY (following Raiven) Unless they're skilled enough to be a merry pain in our arse. Or plausibly a pirate with a hoodie for military plane design?
RAIVEN (scoffs) Like we'd actually be fortunate enough for that kinda break. Especially with past as prologue.
STEGGY I know- worth hoping though. I'm charging up the weapons, for when things go FUBRT. Catch ya in a few, Doc...
RAIVEN (smirk) Catch ya in a few, Cap...
Steggy teleports out of the scene out to the Command Center. A split second later, the good Doctor looks out in front of her, finishes the rest of the Binari in one swig, and tosses it hard onto the ground.
RAIVEN (Cont., to herself) Mans, that's a--surprisingly delectable Binari! I should get a 12-pack of 'em...once this shite's completed anyway.
CUT TO:
INT. COMMAND CENTER, ATHENA-5- Minutes Later
Raiven walking through the entrance to the command center minutes later; her face now fully alert and focused on the possible bit of danger in front of them.
