Ghost Signals, Episode 7: Part 3.3

INT. COMMAND CENTER, ATHENA-5

Steggy at the wheel of the ship, keeping it at a stationary position as she speaks.

STEGGY (Cont.) You want me to swing by and snag ya guys? Not that far from your current position.

BACK TO:

EXT. 10 FEET FROM WHERE THEY STOOD

The good Doctor a few moments later, glancing up at the sky as an image starts to come into play in the distance.

RAIVEN Won't be necessary. I flagged our ride down amidst the tumult.

STEGGY (from the speaker) You mean those pale pink fleshies you were gabbing on about?

RAIVEN Indeed. I'll send you the coordinates if you wanna tag along.

CUT TO:

A shot of the ship in the sky flying toward our heroines- a slightly larger version of a Quinjet with wings on the side strapped with thin missiles lined up three apiece on each individual wing.

CUT TO:

INT. SHIP- Minutes Later

Raiven and Dez-Lei seated next to one another inside the ship, waiting to arrive at their destination. The Doctor is seen look around the sparse looking interior while Mz. de Caar focuses on one particular spot in the ceiling; the only sound heard is the roar of the ship's engines off-screen.

RAIVEN Did you happen to see a pilot or AP system as we walked in?

AC SECOND CLASS DEZ-LEI Didn't notice, no. My best guess though is whoever's at the wheel probably came with the ship.

RAIVEN What makes you say that?

AC SECOND CLASS DEZ-LEI The fact I haven't seen a single air vent since we first boarded. Air seems an important factor for these huminns.

A split second later, Steggy 'ports onto the scene in holographic form on the chair located next to the good Doctor.

STEGGY (matter of factly) I already caught a glimpse- the pilot's a bony skellhe with a lower than primitive AI. I'd take it over, but...bett'n thing creeps me right the hells out.

RAIVEN (intrigued) Hmm. I wonder if I might have enough time to give a glance at the ship's engine system.

STEGGY (wittily) Not unless ya want us dead in the next 10 minuyats.

RAIVEN (defensive, to Steggy) I doubt that'd happen!

STEGGY True. With your luck, and huminn tech's habit of exploding, it'd probably be closer to 4. (Raiven chuckles)

As the two of them continue chatting with each other, the camera moves on to the AC Second Class who has noticed something weird amongst it all.

AC SECOND CLASS DEZ-LEI (to Raiven) Did you notice if the huminns we met were here?

RAIVEN (shakes her head, to AC Second Class Dez- Lei) Don't think so. They're probably back at this Home Base place, wherever it may be.

AC SECOND CLASS DEZ-LEI Still seems suspicious to me...

RAIVEN (pats Dez on the shoulder) We'll be fine, Dez. Keep the suspicion bottled up though, just in case things really don't end well.

We move to an exterior shot of the ship minutes later as it makes its way toward the northern part of the city; the mountains visible in the lower half of the screen for a few moments as they pass it by. You can see parts of the Staples Center and the Big A resting on the base of one of the peaks, albeit barely.

CUT TO:

A short time later, after passing through a bank of yellow-brown colored fog, the ship arrives on a barren area that was formally Lake Elsinore.

You can see what appears to be a large metal door in the center of the dry chunk of land; bits of city buildings and monuments from Las Vegas and Phoenix littering all sides.

The doors slowly slide open and we see the ship makes its descent inside what's behind said doors. The camera soon follows the ship going down a long corridor lit with a series of lights on both sides illuminating the area as the doors close above them.

CUT TO:

INT. LANDING BAY- Few Minutes Later

The ship making a perfect landing on an open spot of the bay, which we last saw briefly a few episodes ago.

The rear doors open, and we see Raiven, Steggy and Dez-Lei step out a few moments later via a long platform that emerges from the center of the area.

RAIVEN By the Gods...an underground society. Makes sense, given the conditions on the surface.

AC SECOND CLASS DEZ-LEI One with a military foundation, given the uniforms they're wearing.

STEGGY There've been theories that huminnkind were controlled by the military in their past.

RAIVEN Yeah, but this seems slightly more communal in nature. Also, Jaryd didn't seem of a military mind when I first met them.

JARYD (Off-Screen) Doctor, welcome to SB0235...

We move to a shot of Jaryd walking toward the two of them. They're dressed in a modest looking bright silver dress suit with a matching pair of slacks; their hair gathered in a nifty looking fade.
