Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 1: Part 3.3
Page 17
Panel 1: Back to Madison in the same setting/layout as Panel 2. She grits her teeth slightly at the statement, though keeps her cool as best as possible in the situation.
MADISON
"Flunky?" That's a little bit reductive, though...
BOBBI
(interjecting, Off-Panel)
She'll be with you in a minute.
Panel 2: Cut to a three-part set of panels set on a couch in the waiting area of the lobby. The young woman is seated on the far left side of the couch; her purse resting right next to her. Above her, you can see the sound of musical notes wafting in from the top left to top right corners.
Panel 3: Part 2: The song manifests itself for the first time- "DARE" by Gorillaz starts playing from the lobby speakers. You can see her left shoulder start to bob up and down, dancing (in her own way) to the tune.
Panel 4: Part 3: A few moments later, the other shoulder starts to bob up and down in the same way as the previous panel; her body swaying slightly as the song continues onward.
CONI
(Off-Panel)
Ms. Mitchell?
Panel 5: Cut to a shot of CONI, the Z-Farms manager, standing a handful of feet away from our heroine in front of a pair of metal doors waving to the young woman. She's dressed in a crisp navy blue pantsuit. She has white dreadlocks, green eyes, and the physique of a linebacker.
CONI
(Cont., smiling)
Welcome to Z-Farms...come with me.
Panel 6: We move to an action shot of the two of them inside the Farms' pens; its gates visible on both sides of the panel view.
CONI
(Cont., curious)
Now, is there a specific kind of Z you had in mind?
MADISON
(shrugs)
Hadn't really thought about different kinds...as long as it holds up till Election Day in one piece, I'll be fine.
CONI
(chuckle)
Most people don't, Ms. Mitchell. We have 4 different kinds of Z's, which can be helpful depending on your main goal.
Panel 7: Slight close-up on Coni's face a split second later, explaining two of the different kinds of zombies the Farm offers which are visible above her in the top right corner of the panel view.
CONI
(Cont.)
There's Grunters: mostly used in warehouse work, non-tool construction. They're silent, take orders well- could do well for your situation.
CONI
(Bubble 2)
There are the Groaners, who occupy the same work categories and general potential in your situation. The problems with them are that they can get...bitey if you don't feed them at the right time.
Page 18
Panel 1: Cut to a similar type of close-up of Madison a moment later, taken aback by the last part of her statement. You can see part of one of the pens over her shoulder in the background.
MADISON
How bitey?
Panel 2: We move back to Coni in the same setting/layout as Panel 3, sans the zombie imagery in the background. She gives the young woman a smirk and a chuckle at the question.
CONI
A dog with a T-Bone level bitey, but with much more blood.
Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A split second later, she turns her focus back out in front of her explaining the other two types; the former of which is visible from left to right in the top of the panel view.
CONI
(Cont.)
Anyhow, the third kind are called Growlers- probably not the best for you. They're mostly used in construction, hauling carts in grocery stores, mine removal. Essentially anything that doesn't involve interacting with other humans.
CONI
(Bubble 2)
And the last one...
Panel 4: We move to a shot moments later of a tall lanky zombie dressed in the tattered remnants of a buttoned-up dress shirt and shorts; its gray-blue skinned head tilted up toward the ceiling at this point.
CONI
(Off-Panel)
We call 'em Gabbers.
Panel 5: Cut to a shot from the other side of the pen, showing Madison (center-right) and Coni (center-left) watching the creature as they speak.
CONI
(Cont.)
They're rare, but what they do is pretty much embedded in the name.
MADISON
(in disbelief)
A talking zombie? I always thought it was a myth crafted by stoners and Reddit.
CONI
You want to see it in action?
MADISON
Yes, please!
Panel 6: Slight close-up on Coni's face a few moments later with a wide boastful smile on her face, ready to prove her work.
CONI
Right then...
