Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 1: Part 4.1
Page 19
Panel 1: Cut to a shot of the woman typing something quickly into a touchpad next to the metal gate to the pen.
Panel 2: We move back to the Gabber in the same setting/layout as Panel 1. Its head turns down to face Madison, flashing as much of a smile as half a jaw can produce.
GABBER
(singing scraggily)
'Owoesa bstird orphan zuhhn uhhfa whore 'nda Skahtsminn...
Panel 3: Cut to Madison's face at the same moment- a little smile over her face- singing along to the Gabber who is still singing along in the background, in an increasingly cleaner manner.
GABBER
(Cont., Off-Panel)
By prahvidinz, impoverish'd, insqkwalor, grow up to be a hero and a scholar. The 10 dollar- Founding father without a father...
MADISON
(singing)
By providence, impoverished, in squalor, grow up to be a hero and a scholar. The 10 dollar- Founding father without a father...
Panel 4: The layout widens to take in Coni looking on with a bit of surprise just as the young woman stops singing in a mark of embarrassment.
Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Coni lets out a deep laugh a few moments later, breaking the tension between the two of them.
Page 20
Panel 1: Slight close-up on Coni's face a few moments later; her face tilted back down from the ceiling toward Madison's direction.
CONI
(playful curious)
Don't get many fans of showtunes in this corner of the world...you pick it up back East?
CONI
(Bubble 2)
Your Dad was a vet?
Panel 2: Back to Madison in the same setting/layout as Panel 1. She flashes a coy smile with a corresponding pair of blushing cheeks as she speaks.
MADISON
It's actually more of a personal connection to the show- the soundtrack got me through a lot of dark moments during the war.
MADISON
(Bubble 2)
Yep. Served in the Southeast and Midwest theaters- actually was part of the forces that liberated Dallas from zombies.
Panel 3: We move back to Coni in the same setting/layout as Panel 4. She grins lovingly at the story, recognizing her own shared experiences within it.
CONI
My late wife served in the same area. I know the feeling well...so, any thoughts?
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of Madison in the same setting/layout as Panel 5 of the previous page. The lone response she gives to the question is a simple nod of her head; a wide smile, and equally wide eyes visible on her face.
MADISON
Not so much thoughts as--shouts of joy!
(from a Worker) "We offer personal towing service for your new Z, if you want."
Panel 5: We move to a shot of the front of Z-Farms where we see Madison, the Gabber and one of the workers staring out at the parking lot off-panel.
MADISON
(shakes her head, to the Worker)
I'm good. I've got a buddy from work coming.
Panel 6: Cut to a shot of the street in front of the farm minutes later. We see a dark blue minivan coming from right to left, outfitted with a strong amount of battle armor than you'd assume from vans.
