Panel 1: Meanwhile, Darren is already seen near the top of the wheelchair ramp a short time later. He notices Madison walking toward him and subtly points her toward the ramp.
DARREN
(to Madison)
You need some help getting it up the ramp? The cage's a little wide, might be a tough f...
Panel 2: Cut to a shot from his perspective when he notices a few moments later that Ms. Mitchell is wearing a pair of headphones and can't hear him.
Panel 3: Back to Darren in the same setting/layout as Panel 4. He lightly nods, acknowledging a basic understanding of what's happening, though still with a little bit of confusion in his eyes.
DARREN
Oh, she's wearing one of those noise cancelling headphones. Don't know why, but- understandable. I guess.
Panel 4: Cut to a shot closer to Madison's perspective as she nears the edge of the curb. You can see the campaign manager more noticeably pointing at the wheelchair ramp in order to get her attention.
Caption: (from Darren) "Feel free to say I'm out of line with this. But the headphones..."
Panel 5: A short time later, the two of them walk side-by-side through the front entrance to the building; Madison dragging the cage behind her as they speak.
DARREN
(Cont., to Madison; curious)
What's the deal with that?
MADISON
(calmly explanatory, to Darren)
It's a noise thing- I'm autistic. It helps me deal with big or loud crowds without going to pieces. Also helps in general with draining, chatty people.
DARREN
(Bubble 2)
I see. What happens if an emergency pops up and I need to talk to you?
MADISON
(Bubble 2)
No worries...
Panel 6: Cut to a slight close-up on the young woman a second later, smiling knowingly with a touch of playfulness at the end of her statement.
MADISON
(Cont.)
I'm a pretty good lip reader!
Panel 7: Back to Darren who flashes a disconcerting look toward his employee at her statement, though with a mild bit of acceptance as well. You can see a section of the white brick wall behind him in the background.
DARREN
Right...as long as it doesn't become a distraction, I'm okay with it.

Panel 1: Back to the side-by-side shot a short time later. As Darren slips his hands into his trouser pocket, you can see Ms. Mitchell pointing behind her toward the tablet in regards to his question.
DARREN
(Cont.)
Your little "Speak 'N Say" charged up?
MADISON
What's a "Speak 'N Say"?
DARREN
(Bubble 2)
The tablet.
MADISON
(Bubble 2)
Ah. Fully charged, and ready to go.
DARREN
(Bubble 3)
Good. Take a spot over in the back near the sound guy. I'll be near the candidate in case things go south--
Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The two of them stop walking; Darren looking straight on at the person speaking off-panel while Madison glances over ahead of them to the area that he pointed out.
PERSON
(Off-Panel)
What in the blessed Word...?
DARREN
Had a hunch that was coming- the second I said it!
Panel 3: Cut to a shot of the manager in the auditorium working that day, REGINALD HUFF- a mousy faced nerdy man in middle aged with a tan shirt and a plaid colored day; his bald spot illuminated slightly by the glow of the halogen lights above him.
REGINALD
(Cont., staring intently at Harry)
I knew the candidate was of the...living deficient persuasion. But I--
Panel 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few moments later, he snaps out of the stunned haze from Panel 1 and shifts his focus back to the two of them.
REGINALD
(to Madison and Darren)
I was told there would be a ZCR member here for security. Where are they?
Panel 5: Cut to Darren in an action shot, moving toward Reginald with calm ease and leaving Madison to the cage. You can see the form of a half-smile over his face as he speaks.
DARREN
Captain Rogers was running a little late. She should be coming in from the back just before the rally begins...
