Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 2: Part 4.1
Page 44
Panel 1: Back to Nate a short time later, hanging one of the boxes he took out onto an available hook. He ponders the question to himself, piecing together an answer as he speaks.
NATE
It's called "One Block." It was inspired by this Z I encountered back in my Army days. I called him (at least I thought it was a him) "Igor" because of the way it walked- slow and halting...like the Igor from Frankenstein.
JAN
(Off-Panel)
Never heard of it.
NATE
(sigh, Bubble 2)
Anyway...
Panel 2: Cut to a shot of a town square from the past somewhere, covered in fog and various bits of destruction that are shrouded in the fog. You can see a shadow stumble out from the entrance of what was formally an apartment building before the outbreak.
Caption: (Cont., from Nate's story) "Every morning for a week, "Igor" would stumble out of this apartment building, cross the street and then stumble back inside. Didn't attack anyone, didn't really notice any other human in the area. Just walk in, and walk out."
Panel 3: We move to a close-up of the Z in question moving across the street in a slow, lumbering fashion toward its target. You can see the building they came from in the background along with part of the sky piercing through the fog.
Caption: (Cont.) "Then one morning, I took cover behind a van to get a closer look at the creature- try and better understand why exactly it was doing this. And...
Panel 4: At the end of the journey, we see the Z bending down and stiffly extending its left arm down toward the ground as if it's about to pet some animal on the head.
Caption: (from Jan) "It was petting an invisible animal?"
Panel 5: Back to Nate in the same setting/layout as Panel 3 of the previous page. He nods at the question, though with a bit of trepidation tacked on to the answer.
NATE
That's what I thought it did. That's where I framed the story on- this...latent memory from his past that somehow was locked in its brain even as it deteriorated in its zombie form.

Panel 1: Cut to Jan pausing for a moment from her work, reacting to the tiny bit of story described to her with an upraised eyebrow showing little desire/care for it.
JAN
Doesn't sound like my cup to tea...
Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A split second later, we see her back to work stocking, flashing one last shrug at the end of her statement.
JAN
But you do you, dude. When's this festival?
Panel 3: Cut to a similarly framed action shot of Nate stocking items, and glancing over from his periphery at his co-worker. You can see a glint of encouragement in his eyes as he speaks.
NATE
Late April. So there's plenty of time to lay out special stuff you'd need to know.
Panel 4: We move to a wide shot of the backs of both Jan and Nate as they set about unloading the merchandise, addressing each other from the side. You can see the bottom of one of the TVs in the top of the panel view.
NATE
(Cont.)
Like how my landlord sometimes sleepwalks naked at nights.
JAN
Oh--Oh, God! Seriously?!
NATE
(Bubble 2)
Yeah. It's never at one part of the building, though it does usually happen at about 2-2:30 in the morning. As long as you're inside by then...
Panel 5: We shift a little further up toward the TVs mounted on the walls as the two workers continue their chat. The one at the center of the panel is playing an image of Harry at a campaign rally with the chyron "The Walking Already Dead?" underneath it.
NATE
(Cont., Off-Panel)
You should be fine.
