Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 3: Part 1.2

Page 56

Panel 1: Cut to a shot of Butler walking away from the situation over to someone from the policy team in the distance. You can see a glint of the sun amidst the partial blue and gray skies above in the top of the panel view.

BUTLER

(Cont.)

You're more than welcome to try the rest of the staff...can't stop peeps doing stupid crap. But the answer's gonna be the same-!

Panel 2: A two-part set of panels that moves back to a close-up on Madison reacting to the statement with a deep set of well hidden anger.

Panel 3: In Part 2, the young woman lets out a frustrated sigh that releases a bit of the anger from the previous panel. Though still with plenty of anger to spare.

MADISON

(thought bubble)

Prick...gonna be fun smushing my victory in his face!

Panel 4: A montage series of three snapshots of the young woman trying again with different members of the speechwriting staff. In this first part, it's at a cafe somewhere in the south of the district.

"FAILED- #2"

Panel 5: In the second part, a few weeks (and more than a few attempts) later, she tries again at an evening town hall in the northwest.

"FAILED- #8"

Panel 6: In the third and final part, another few weeks later, she goes at it with another speech writer after a rally back in Lawrenceburg. The writer (AIMEE)- unlike in the other panels- is slightly more amenable than the others.

"FAILED- #16"

AIMEE

(sympathetic, to Madison)

I think I might be able to help...

Panel 1: Action shot of her and Madison in motion a moment later, heading back to one of the cars to take them to the hotel. You can see in the background a little more of the crowd starting to disperse.

AIMEE

(Cont.)

The only downside is that you gotta stay in the background. And if it goes south- when it goes south- you will get hucked under the bus. Nothing against you, you seem nice. But...girl’s gotta eat.

MADISON

(understanding, to Aimee)

That’s totally fair. I’m just happy one of you guys said yes. I was beginning to think I was pushing metal.

Panel 2: Slight close-up a second later on Aimee a split second later. She smirks slightly, reminiscing with a bit of melancholy hidden underneath her words.

AIMEE

I know the feeling. I’ve barely gotten any push from the Comms Director to get my stuff out there. Hope it works.

Panel 3: Back to Ms. Mitchell who chuckles at her comment from the previous panel. Behind her, you can see trucks with tech gear loading up in the background.

MADISON

Same...so, what’s your plan?

Panel 4: Start of a two-part montage of shots showcasing Aimee's rough plan to Madison. In Part 1, we see her talking with the aforementioned Comms Director MARSHALL AVERY seated in a dining room, glancing over documentation on a computer.

Caption: (from Aimee) "First I meet with Marshall in the morning over whatever qualifies as breakfast at Holiday Inn. Mention one of your policy outlines as a trial balloon."

Panel 5: Part 2 moves to a close-up of Aimee in mid-explanation, glancing over in Marshall's direction. There's a look of sincerity and strength in her eyes as she speaks.

Caption: (Cont., from Aimee) "Well, series of trial balloons- frame it as something from a focus group that tested well. He's partial to that.

Caption: (from Madison) "You can add in that you think it could help beat against the "Already Dead Dead Man" narrative the other side's pushing."

Caption: (from Aimee) "Right!"
