Panel 1: We move to the interior of the car a few minutes later. The driver, MARSHA, is seen in the lower right corner of the panel view, glancing over at Nate as he sits down.

MARSHA

(making chit chat, to Nate)

How's your day going so far?

NATE

(to Kara, without looking)

Not too shabby, for being up since 6.

MARSHA

(Bubble 2)

HA! Same. Been up since 5...pay's pretty good though.

Panel 2: Cut to a close-up of Marsha's face a couple of seconds later, turning over to properly look at our protagonist. You can see the road out from the windshield in the background.

MARSHA

(Cont.)

Anyway, where are you heading?

Panel 3: Back to Nate as he gets situated, reaching over to grab the seatbelt as he addresses her. You can see part of the rearview mirror in the background behind him.

NATE

LAX- I've got a flight in a couple of hours.

Panel 4: Same setting/layout as Panel 2. She raises an upturned eyebrow at the tail end of the statement.

MARSHA

LAX? That's cutting it a bit close, this far out of town.

Panel 5: Back to Nate in the same setting/layout as Panel 3. He nods knowingly at the sentiment; the seatbelt now fully wrapped over his body.

NATE

I know, I know. Had a...last minute packing emergency I had to deal with. But it's not rush hour yet, so- should be fine. Right?

Panel 6: Back to Marsha in the same setting/layout as Panel 4. She's seen holding back a chuckle as she moves back to the steering wheel ready to set off.

Panel 1: Cut to a shot of the two of them in the car a short time later. At the edges of the panel, you can see the sides of cars in other lanes stuck in the same massive traffic jam.

Caption: 10 Minutes (and 2 Miles) Later

Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Marsha glances back at Nate with the assistance of the rearview mirror, breaking the lull in conversation.

MARSHA

(curious, to Nate)

So, where are you heading to?

NATE

Indianapolis.

MARSHA

(Bubble 2)

Ah...why?

Panel 3: Cut to a close-up of Mr. Kelly a few moments later. He chuckles a bit, flashing a touch of a smile and shaking his head.

NATE

(to Marsha)

I'm going there for a theatre festival. One of my plays is gonna be staged there.

Panel 4: Cut to Marsha giving an approving nod at the bit of news. As she speaks, there's the low hum of the engine following the slow march of the car up the road.

MARSHA

(congratulatory and surprised)

Oh congrats! I didn't know Indianapolis had its own theatre.

(Bubble 2)

The last show I saw was Beetlejuice. One of those touring company deals I think- awesome show!

Panel 5: Back to Nate in the same setting/layout as Panel 3. He laughs a little bit harder than before, flashing a little wider smile as well.

NATE

(grateful)

Eh, I'm just happy someone said "Yes." Don't really care where though.

Panel 6: Back to a similarly framed close-up of Marsha a few moments later. She empathetically nods at the comment; her eyes glancing down toward the car's console as she speaks.

MARSHA

I know the feeling- still trying to land an agent for my manuscript.
