Page 70
Panel 1: Cut to a shot of Nate looking over at the individual gates as they pass by; his mind going through a bunch of life minutiae to pass the gap in time.
NATE
(thought bubble)
Oh balls, I forgot to tell Jan about garbage day tomorrow! On the plus side, the can was light this week. So, shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully.
Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few moments later, his eyes quickly move a little more to the left upon heeding the message from the automated conveyance.
VOICE
(from the M&M console)
You have arrived at your gate.
NATE
(thought bubble)
And with my stomach still in tact- yay!
Panel 3: Cut to an action shot of the young man stepping off the McFly and moving toward the gate; his hands gripping both pieces of luggage, rolling them onto the gate carpet.
Caption: (Cont. from Voice in Panel 2) "Have a safe flight!"
Panel 4: We move to a short time later where Nate moves over to grab a seat next to a couple of locals in the middle and right sections of the row of seats. They're each dressed in fashions that would be right at home in fashion magazines today.
Panel 5: Close-up on Mr. Kelly reaching over to one of his bags to unzip and pull out something to help pass the time. Above him is the sound of chatter from the sizable local crowd filtering in from off-panel.
GATE ATTENDANT
(Off-Panel)
Flight 372 to Reggie Miller International Airport is slated to arrive in just about twenty minutes. Advanced boarders will be notified by...
NATE
Enough time to check my E-Mail.
Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel a few moments later. He slowly pulls out a closed Macbook from inside the suitcase, glancing up at something up at the ceiling that catches his eye.
GATE ATTENDANT
(Cont., Off-Panel)
Till then- For those looking for a pick-me-up, a DIY cafe station should be passing by in about a few minutes.
CROWD
(Off-Panel)
YAY...!
Page 71
Panel 1: The crowd noise from the last panel of the previous page continues off-panel, though the setting and layout has changed to Madison in her apartment later that afternoon. She's on her laptop typing, glancing up at the TV briefly.
Panel 2: Cut to the screen itself a split second later, revealing the source of the cheering- a Pacers playoff game. You can see in the lower half of the screen the score of the game (IND 89, CLE 82) late in the 4th Quarter.
Panel 3: Back to Madison in the same setting/layout as Panel 1. She looks back down at the computer screen and types again with the same strong stoic look on her face.
MADISON
(Off-Panel thought bubble)
So, this is what Writer's Block feels like...I have sooo many speechwriters I should apologize to. If they still remember me anyway.
Panel 4: We move to a shot of the PDF document, scrolling down for a period as she examines every bit of the legislative document. On the other half of the page, you can see the Word document titled "Quip List" that is...quite empty at the moment.
MADISON
(Cont., Off-Panel thought bubble)
It's not that the policy's imminently strong. Or well-written. Hell, I could probably take an hour and make something better. It's just a dense pain in the ass, like one of those...
Panel 5: Cut to Ms. Mitchell's face a few moments later. She's stopped scrolling at this point; an idea popping into his head suddenly.
MADISON
I wonder...
