Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 3: Part 4.3
Page 76
Panel 1: She grits her teeth and tilts her head to the side in pain, holding a steady state of mind; her left hand clutching one of the bars to the cage.
Panel 2: Back to the Reporter who notices the pained look on Ms. Mitchell's face, and shifts to a more concerned look than from Panel 5 of the previous page.
REPORTER
(to Madison)
Are you okay?
MADISON
(Off-Panel, pained; to Reporter)
I'm...okay.
Panel 3: Cut back to Madison in the same setting/layout as Panel 1. She's let go of the bar and focuses back in the Reporter's general direction, retaining a sense of balance from before.
MADISON
(Cont.)
My brain just got a little...fritzy for a moment, that's all. I'm good now.
REPORTER
(Off-Panel)
Okay...
Panel 4: We move to a shot of the camerawoman standing in the middle of the two of them, looking into the lense to test out the focus.
Caption: (rest of the Reporter's line) "Are we good to go, Rachel?
Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Rachel responds a few moments later with one simple motion- a thumbs up.
Panel 6: Back to the Reporter in the same setting/layout as Panel 1. She smiles, grabbing hold of the note cards that were on her lap earlier.
REPORTER
Good. Start the countdown.
RACHEL
(Off-Panel)
5...4...3...
Page 77
Panel 1: We wide to a shot just behind the cameraman, showing the reporter seated to the right and Madison and Henry positioned to the left of the panel view. You can see Rachel with her right hand extended and flashing two as the rest of the countdown goes silent.
REPORTER
This is Joann Quinn with a WIN exclusive with something of an...international celebrity here in the Indianapolis area- unliving candidate for Congress Henry Skelton.
Panel 2: Cut to a shot from the cameraview of the Reporter speaking to camera with the steady beats of someone with decades of experience.
JOANN
(Cont.)
Undoubtedly you've seen one of the numerous think pieces online, debating and dissecting the merits of this unconventional candidate.
Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The body remains relatively the same as it was in Panel 2, save for some hand movements she incorporates to the rest of her opening spiel; her right hand gripping the notecards.
JOANN
(Cont.)
But I wanted to see the candidate for myself- and I imagine many of you watching feel the same too. So after some cajoling by her staff (and with ZCR Captain Rogers)...
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of Henry in the cage looking blankly to the right of the panel view. As was the case in Panels 2 and 3, the layout of the panel resembles something from a video camera.
JOANN
(Cont., Off-Panel)
I was able to get Mr. Skelton here along with his "vocal assistant" Madison Mitchell. Thank you for taking a few minutes with us.
HENRY
(to Joann)
Thank you, Joann...
Panel 5: Back to Joann in the same setting/layout as Panel 3. She glances down at her note cards as she officially starts up the interview.
JOANN
The latest poll in the race has you down 16 points, which hasn't changed the past few weeks. How do you plan to break through that logjam as we go into the Summer?
Page 78
Panel 1: Back to Henry in the same setting/layout as Panel 4 of the previous page. There's a series of faint tappings on the tablet screen moving from off-panel left right to Henry's response bubble.
HENRY
Polls are open to change from day-to-day. I"m not terribly worried about them. Right now, we want to focus on handling the issues that most affect our consitutents. Just yesterday we released our plan--
Panel 2: Cut to Joann in the middle of an interjection, knowing the second half of the statement before she can finish typing; the setting/layout similar to the end of the previous page.
JOANN
(interjecting)
The subway connection plan from Lawrenceburg and Versailles to Indianapolis. It's a good plan- Though Congressman Jenkins released a far more cost-effective plan weeks ago.
Panel 3: Back to Henry in the same setting/layout as Panel 1. As was also the case in that panel, you can see the stream of clicks leading toward the undead candidate's reply.
HENRY
I agree, it's a decent plan. But it does lack some vision on certain parts, which isn't surprising given he's been in Congress longer than I've been dead. Not to mention some of the devil in the details in said plan.
Panel 4: Back to Joann the reporter who looks a little bit befuddled by the remark, and also a bit intrigued and ready to dive in deeper to its meaning.
JOANN
What kind of devil are we referring to?
JOANN
(Bubble 2)
I fail to see what that has to do with the feasibility of the plan.
Panel 5: We move back to Henry in the same setting/layout as Panel 3. The same with the stream of clicks leading over to Henry who has moved a step and a half since Panel 3.
HENRY
His brother William had a lot of ties in the construction industry in the area.
Panel 6: Cut to a shot of Madison's face a moment later smiling from ear to ear behind the cage out of camera view as she types up the start of the response.
HENRY
(Off-Panel)
