Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 4: Part 3.3
Page 93 (Chapter 4, Page 15)
Panel 1: A three-part set of panels that focuses squarely on Ms. Mitchell at the boom mic, observing each explosive take; the music from her headphones keeping her at a relatively even kiel.
MADISON
(thought bubble)
Thank Hera for Da Brat...pretty sure I'd be crawling up a pole at this point without them.
Panel 2: In Part 2, minutes later, the grip on the mic tightens ever so slightly. Though her even kiel demeanor still remains in place from the previous panel.
MADISON
(Cont., thought bubble)
Doesn't mean it's not still a little dull as flavorless rice cakes sometimes. But it's temporary, so I've got that going for me.
Panel 3: In Part 3, a short time after that, we see her glancing to the right in the director's direction. There's a look of almost admiration in her eyes at this point
MADISON
(Cont., thought bubble)
On the plus side, I think I may have found a new friend in all this.
Panel 4: We move to a shot of Zoe looking at the screen after this most recent take. She seems entirely satisfied with the results, ready to head on to the next scene.

(Madison)
"Not sure if she's affiliated with the campaign proper. But still- seems pretty fun."
Panel 5: Later that evening, as the techies start to load up the filming equipment in the background, we see the two of them walking over to the cars located out on the street near the filming site.
ZOE
(curious)
So, Maddie...I can call you Maddie?
MADISON
(shrugs)
Long as it isn't Dee, I'm fine with it.
ZOE
(Bubble 2)
Good to know. So, Maddie- how'd you get into politics?
Panel 6: We move to a slight close-up of the young woman's face looking over at the ground in front of her in a state of thought. You can see a techie crossing from right to left holding a massive metal box in both hands.
MADISON
(warmly)
It was through my uncle actually.
Page 94 (Chapter 4, Page 16)
Panel 1: A flashback shot of Madison, aged 11, seated in the upper section of the Indiana State House watching with rapt attention as her Uncle Brock is (in the lower part of the panel section) giving a speech in front of the full House.
Caption (Cont., Madison)
My class was on a field trip to the Indiana State House one day during session. I went to the bathroom when I heard my uncle giving a speech in chambers, and...I snuck up to the stands to watch.
Panel 2: Cut to a shot of Zoe’s face in a close-up back in present day. She’s taken aback by the proclamation, holding back a grin as well.
ZOE
(to Madison)
So, you’ve always been a wild child. Interesting.
Panel 3: Madison chuckles and shakes her head from the other side of the line; her cheeks a bit red from a flush of embarrassment that hit the young woman at that point.
MADISON
(defensive, to Zoe)
It wasn’t being a “wild child.” I was there for maybe 10 minutes and got back into line before the teacher noticed.
MADISON
(Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 4, Bubble 1)
Basically, yeah.
Panel 4: Back to Zoe in the same setting/layout as Panel 2. She tilts her head a little bit away from Ms. Mitchell compared to the aforementioned panel, showing a knowing look to the tweaked part of the story.
ZOE
Ah. The teacher hated you, then...
Panel 5: We move back to 11-year-old Madison on the bus heading back to her school, watching the video that she ended up filming back at the top of the page with headphones on her ears. You can see a wide smile on her face as she’s listening.
Caption (Madison)
But that didn’t really matter to me at that moment. I was hooked to the weird, beautiful dance that is politics.
