Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 5: Part 1.2

Page 106 (Chapter 5, Page 3)

Panel 1: A short time after the end of the previous page, we move to a shot of the truck parking on the curb in front of the Indianapolis Community Theatre. You can see part of the theatre's logo in the top half of the background, along with the sound of the Growler through its closed back door.

Caption (from Sue)

"Nicely done…"

Panel 2: Cut to a shot of Nate the following morning slowly emerging from a weathered brown leather couch in Sue's office. He slowly pushes himself back up to his feet; a blanket with Brie Larson's face gliding down to the bottom of the panel view at the same moment.

NATE

(to Sue, with a yawn)

Thanks...and thanks for letting me crash in your office. I had a place set up when I got here, but unfortunately…

Panel 3: Flashback to the same setting/layout from the last panel of the first page, taken a few minutes later. He glances down at the console as he's driving, listening to the last bit of the message from the other end.

CASS (from the console, to Nate) There's been a health scare with my grandmother- coronary. She's getting out of the hospital in a few days and I promised to use the spare room till she recuperates. Which will be months. Sorry again...next time you're in Indy though!

Panel 4: Cut to Sue at her desk, typing away at something and glancing over in Mr. Kelly's direction as she speaks. She grits her teeth sympathetically to the bulk of the story told. You can see a few past Playbills in the background hanging on the wall over her head.

SUE

(to Nate)

No worries. It's one of the perks of having an apartment above where you work- open space, in case of emergency.

Panel 5: We move to the young man crouched in a seated position on the edge of the couch, glancing over at the theatre owner with a curious look on his face.

NATE

What do we do with the Growler? It's still a few days till the festival begins, and I didn't really see a whole lot of loading areas. Not unless you count that outhouse thing in the back.

Page 107 (Chapter 5, Page 4)

Panel 1: Back to Sue in the same setting/layout as Panel 4 of the previous page. She's stopped typing and turns her attention fully toward Nate to answer with a considerable amount of confidence in her eyes.

SUE

(to Nate) Actually, that's our prop/set closet. It's good enough protection wise, with the cage and weapons and the hunks of syn-wood.

Panel 2: Cut to an interior shot of the Growler's cage inside the prop/set shed. Coming in from off-panel left, you can see a tray with a hunk of pork on it being placed toward the zombie via a metal grabby arm.

Caption

(Cont., Sue) "In terms of food…"

Panel 3: We move back to the same setting/layout as Panel 1 a handful of moments after her explanation. She stands up from her leather computer chair; her eyes glancing down at a point on the computer screen.

SUE

(Cont.) I've got a staff meeting to get to. You're more than welcome to make some breakfast upstairs- and to use the shower.

Panel 4: Action shot of Sue's bathroom a short time later with the curtains drawn closed. You can see a billow of steam coming up from the top of the curtains, along with the shadow of Mr. Kelly's body as he gets scrubbed up.

Caption

(Cont., Sue)

'Cause- no offense- I can smell you from here."

Panel 5: Action shot of the now clean young man minutes later, taking out a box of cereal from the cabinet somewhere in the kitchen. You can see a selection of appliances in the lower half of the panel view, along with the black counter and parts of the refrigerator.

Panel 6: At the table, pouring the cereal into the bowl, he glances over at the TV across from him watching something that catches his eye.

HENRY (Off-Panel, from the screen) I'm Henry Skelton, and I approve this message…
