Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 5: Part 1.3
Page 108 (Chapter 5, Page 5)
Panel 1: Cut to a shot of the TV a moment later as the ad begins, showing a picturesque nature setting in the middle of Spring. There are bright, chipper notes that emerge from the speakers in concert with the narration.
NARRATOR (Off-Panel)
One of the great things about being an Indianan is the beauty of our national parks. Our parks made over $700 million in tourist revenue last year alone. Five of those parks since before the Wars.
Panel 2: We move to another shot at ground level showing some wildlife moving across the scene from left to right and vice versa. In the center of the shot, you can see part of the same realm of data the Narrator is speaking about.
NARRATOR
(Cont., Off-Panel)
It is just as much a part of the DNA of our fine state as basketball or "Parks & Recreation."
Panel 3: Cut to a little snippet of Rep. Jenkins taken from one of his ads. It shows him entering the top floor of a factory, talking to managers in suits and ties with helmets on their heads.
NARRATOR
(Cont., Off-Panel) Rep. Jenkins claims to believe the same thing. And yet since coming to Congress…
Panel 4: We move to a shot of the same section of forest that we saw in the previous chapter. In the center of the shot is an oversized bill; the words HB 922, and "create Cell and Wi-Fi towers on national Park property."
NARRATOR
(Cont., Off-Panel)
He co-sponsored a bill that would've cheapened the beauty of nature in our parks...
Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Next to HB 922, we see another digitally made oversized bill (HB 2444) with "loosen restrictions on target shooting on campgrounds."
NARRATOR (Cont., Off-Panel)
...endanger the 4.5 million children who visited national parks in central Indiana every year….
Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. At the far edge of the aforementioned bills, we see the third one drop into view (HB 1009) which would "dump the ban on waste disposal for campers on national Park properties."
NARRATOR
(Cont., Off-Panel) ...and make life a little more dangerous for the animals who call our national parks home.
Page 109 (Chapter 5, Page 6)
Panel 1: A two-part set of panels that stays on that final shot from the end of the previous page. Unlike the previous page though, the music has faded and been replaced by the subtle sound of ticking from the left of the panel view.
NARRATOR
(Cont., Off-Panel) Each vote was defeated by a slim Democratic majority. But with a Republican majority…
Panel 2: In part 2, we see each of the bills exploding, taking in the section of wildlife and plant life around it.
NARRATOR (Cont., Off-Panel)
...We may not be as lucky!
Panel 3: Cut to a shot of Henry at a rally somewhere; the pleasant sounding musical notes returning from the speakers on the TV. You can see, in big white letters, the words "Vote November 7th" on the bottom of the screen.
NARRATOR
(Cont., Off-Panel)
On November 7th, vote for a candidate who won't leave the environment as lifeless as he is.
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of Madison sitting on a chair somewhere in front of a pale white background. There's a flurry of waves and commotion above her like a hive of invisible hornets buzzing in the air.
Caption (Henry, from the end of the commercial)
I'm Henry Skelton, and I approve this message.
Caption 144 days till the Election
Rep. Jenkins 55.5%, Henry Skelton 36.9%
Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The lone change is that the ethereal invisible buzzing has halted; a lone question piercing through to her, who we see glancing over to the right in the direction of where it came from.
DUNCAN
(Off-Panel, to Madison) Are you listening, Madison?
