Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 5: Part 3.2
Page 118 (Chapter 5, Page 15)
Panel 1: A short time later, as the talkback is under way, we see him in the theatre in the middle of the shot; the cast sprinkled all around the area, listening and chatting in between the different cats. You can see the top of the Growler in its cage to the right of the panel view. You can also still see the same high level of panic on the young man’s face.
Panel 2: We move to a slight close-up on Nate’s face turning in the direction of the question addressed to him. Compared to the previous panel, he’s a little more composed and covering the panic to the audience.
AUDIENCE MEMBER
(Off-Panel, to Nate) This question is for the young man who wrote it.
Panel 3: Cut to the audience member in question, a short and thin old woman seated in the third row holding a microphone which she utters the question into. You can see a medium-sized stud on her nose.
AUDIENCE MEMBER
(Cont.)
I was amazed by the realism of the story and some of the characters, including the lead Captain Arnold. I know you said that you were a veteran of the Wars, but I’m curious to know if the story was inspired by personal experience or if it was a story from another officer.
Panel 4: A two-part set of panels that moves back to Nate’s face over the course of a few moments. In the first part, he takes a deep breath summoning as much energy as he can at that point.
Panel 5: In part 2, holding the microphone given to him in the gap of time between here and the previous panel, Mr. Kelly goes into the bulk of his answer.
NATE (to the audience member) Yeah, it was based on something I went through on patrol- years back. Some bits were taken out mainly…

Panel 1: Before he can go into his story, he gets jolted by a loud banging sound emanating from the Growler’s cage, sending him into a brief moment of fright. You can see some of the other actors around him showing a mix of concern and/or chuckling at the moment.
Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. One of the actors a few moments reaches out and pats Nate on his shoulder as he recovers. You can see Mr. Kelly’s microphone rising up just below his chin.
ACTOR #1
(to Nate) You okay? NATE (to Actor #1) Yeah. Just got jumpy a little.
(to Audience Member)
Anyway, the story. I’m not sure any of you guys are that interested in hearing about…
SOUND EFFECT (Crowd Applause)
Panel 3: We move to a slight close-up on the Growler’s cage a few moments later. As the young man starts to go into the story behind the story, we see the zombie start moving over to the right of the cage; the chain just beginning to tighten up.
NATE (to the audience) Alright. It was- 10 years ago at this point, 12...I was with the 55th over in southern Illinois.
Panel 4: The dialogue blurs together, and once again the image zooms in a little closer on the Growler cage; the words from Nate’s mouth blurring out as we focus in on the now strictly tightened chain holding the zombie at bay. You can see one of the links starting to strain and weather, though not enough that anyone looking at it would be concerned.
Caption (Madison) “First step in a brand new ‘insurgency’ campaign…”
Panel 5: Cut to the present, days after we last left them pages ago. We see Madison and Zoe standing side-by-side (Henry in cage between the two of them) looking over at the facade off-panel. Madison is quite excited at what she sees, pressing the large folder to her chest. Zoe, meanwhile, is much more uncertain.

Days Later
MADISON (Cont.)
A brand new headquarters!
ZOE An artist’s co-op? Part of me loves the idea, Maddie. But is this really the best place to house a zombie the next 5-ish months?
MADISON (Bubble 2)
Rent’s right in our bone ass cheap wheelhouse. And the tenants aren’t that judgmental, at least with the last co-op I was in. And besides, they’ve got a primo storage bank next door.
Panel 6: Cut to a shot of Henry being placed inside one of the lockers in the storage bank at some indiscriminate point in time. You can see the relatively empty, sparse interior around the cage as the light is quickly closed off from the off-panel door closing.
Caption
(Cont., Madison) “We can slip Henry in there. Give him meat at the right time between stops. And most importantly…”
