Rock The Vouhhnn!, Chapter 5: Part 4.2
Page 124 (Chapter 5, Page 21)
Panel 1: We move back to Nate in the same setting/layout as the end of the previous page. There’s no sense of shock or condemnation visible on the young man’s face upon hearing the news. Instead, he simply smiles and nods with a bit of excitement visible in his eyes.
NATE
Oh, awesome! I lived next door to a Throuple growing up- had the best Chocobricks.
NATE (Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 2, Bubble 1) Essentially it’s Rice Krispie treats, but with the chocolate Rice Krispies and also a dash of cinnamon- so good!
Panel 2: Back to Rowena in the same setting/layout as Panel 5 of the previous page. There’s a touch of curiosity on her face at the final part of his statement; her hand reaching out of panel view to grab her drink.
ROWENA Chocobrick?
Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel, a few moments later. She has her glass of the Witches’ Coffee gripped in her hand, chuckling mildly at the explanation. Though seemingly ready to top the treat.
ROWENA (grins)
You should try my abuelo’s chocotorta. He blends in white chocolate, dark chocolate and milk chocolate chips as well as a dash of jalapeno powder.
Panel 4: We move back to a shot of Mr. Kelly’s face; the setting/layout the same as we saw in Panel 1. He cringes a little bit at the end of the explanation Rowena gave at the end of the previous panel.
ROWENA (Off-Panel) It’s better than sea salt in chocolate…
Panel 5: Back to an action shot of Rowena taking a sip of her coffee as she speaks. She continues on the rest of her answer in the same type of casual, confident demeanor that we saw in Panel 2.
ROWENA (Cont.)
...tastes a little bit like that Spicy Chocolate Cheeto they made just before the outbreak appeared.
Page 125 (Chapter 5, Page 22)
Panel 1: Nate chuckles slightly at the comment, glancing down at the breakfast burrito resting on his plate in the bottom of the panel view. You can see his right hand partially appearing in the shot, ready to grab it as he speaks.
NATE
I’ll...take your word for it.
Panel 2: A two-part set of panels that moves back to the same type of side view we saw at the beginning of the scene. It’s a relatively innocent scene with the two of them eating their respective meals.
Panel 3: In Part 2, a minute later, Rowena looks up from her plate in Mr. Kelly’s direction to break the bit of silence that had started to settle in.
ROWENA So, when’s your flight?
NATE
12:30.
ROWENA
(Bubble 2) Just enough time for first time playwrights…
Panel 4: We move to a shot of a couple of people on silhouette being levitated skyward via a hover platform. You can see a little section of city life in the bottom of the panel view.
Caption
(Cont., Rowena)
“A little good mojo for the future.”
Panel 5: A short time later, we see Nate and Rowena (the two on the hover platform) looking over at the skyline and sharing a can of beans.
NATE
(confused)
Not sure how this is considered good luck.
ROWENA
Me neither really. But it does work.
Panel 6: Action shot of Ms. Marquez with a mouth full of beans explaining the meaning of it as much as she can.
ROWENA
(Cont.)
The last time I did this was for this nice girl in Cardiff- ended up winning a pair of BAFTAS the following year.
