Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 8: Part 2.1
Page 184 (Chapter 8, Page 7)
Panel 1: We move to an animated snapshot of Mr. Skelton breaking out of his cage, and lunging forward at Nate who is standing to the center-right of the panel view. It’s a metaphysical version of what precisely Ms. Olson means from the caption.
Caption
(Cont., Zoe)
“And politically, we could use as few unforced errors as freakin’ possible.”
Panel 2: Cut to a shot of Zoe’s face back at HQ a beat later. She shifts toward a note of curiosity; a single point popping up in her head at that point.
ZOE
(Cont.)
Almost forgot to ask- you don’t have anything going on in your life that could be a conflict, do you?
Panel 3: We move back to a similarly framed shot of Nate back in the dressing room, listening to the rest of Ms. Olson’s question. You can see a stoically blank look on his face as he listens.
ZOE
(Cont., through the receiver)
We’ve had a couple of candidates fall out due to scheduling conflicts, and I’d rather avoid stepping on that land mine again.
Panel 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Moments pass by, and we still see him in his own head trying to come up with a proper answer. Meanwhile, in the top right corner of the panel…
NATE
(shakes his head)
Nah, my schedule’s pretty free and clear.
Panel 5: ...in thought bubble form, we see a mish mash of different images showing where exactly he is lifewise. You can see the boarded up Target, him on set from “Peace Time” earlier on in the shoot, normal life minutiae, and other life bits.
Panel 6: Back to Zoe who is now smiling upon finally hearing a good answer to the unanswerable question for her; the setting and layout behind her is similar to what we saw in Panel 4.
ZOE
(wide smile)
Fantastic! I’ll send you the E-Mail to our personnel chief, and she’ll get you through scheduling details, tax stuff, and the like. I’ll also E-Mail you by the end of the week to set up some time of introductory call with me and our chief of staff, Madison Mitchell.

Panel 1: A two-part set of panels that moves back to Nate in the same setting/layout as Panel 4. In the first part, he nods slightly at Zoe’s last statement. As he speaks, you can see his thumb moving toward the “End Call” button.
NATE
Sounds good…
Panel 2: In part 2, moments later, the weight of what he’s just agreed on starts to hit the young man hard. You can see his eyes grow wide with the bolt of anxiety over the former.
NATE
(thought bubble)
What the crap did I just sign up for?
Panel 3: Cut to a shot of Mr. Kelly outside the shooting location minutes later, scrolling through his phone in order to look up information from before. You can see part of the building’s facade in the background, along with some of the glass entrance doors over his shoulder.
TEXT BUBBLE
(popping up from the phone) The page “Debate Coach” does not exist. You can ask for it to be created, but consider checking the search results below to see whether the topic is already covered.
NATE
(frustrated sigh)
Yeah, figured that. Worth a try though…
Panel 4: Same setting as the previous panel a short time later. The layout widens a little wider, taking in the rest of his body showing him slide the phone back into his bag; his gaze looking out off-panel right for his ride to come.
NATE
(Cont., thought bubble)
Zoe talked about picking up stuff from directors for this job. No better time than now to start...
