Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 9: Part 3.2

Page 216 (Chapter 9, Page 15)

Panel 1: Zoe chuckles slightly and looks on with exasperation as her friend turns left out of view. She goes back to her milkshake to take a sip and settle her worries as best as she can. You can see some of the other customers near her returning to their own lives and conversation after the little show.

ZOE

(to herself)

...Right. You’re lucky I trust you, budette.

Panel 2: Cut to Madison in mid-stride, following the section of the family unit on the way out of the door. She steps past a couple of people entering on their way to the front lobby; her hand touching the edge of her headphones, keeping them balanced on her neck.

“And lucky they make milkshakes with Guinness here.”

Panel 3: At the edge of the doorway, she stops and glances over at the family who are over a dozen steps in front of them. You can see the level of activity in her eyes, observing them and the words coming out.

Panel 4: Cut to the parking lot where we see Darren and Liv chatting indiscriminately in front of their car, settling some of the arguments that came earlier. Though we don’t hear precisely what’s being said then.

Panel 5: Back to Madison in the same setting as Panel 3. The layout closes in slightly more at her face moments later; a smile consistent with jovial realization coming over her face as she speaks.

MADISON

(to herself)

There’s the answer…

Panel 1: On the same image of her from the end of the previous page, we see her in a green room sometime in the future; the smile shifting toward a more subtler grin. You can see her right hand up on her headphones to press the button turning it on.

Green Room, Debate Night

October 26th

Panel 2: A two-part set of panels that widens the layout of the shot, showing her dancing around the room to the sounds of “Another Saturday Night” by Sam Cooke. It’s on the level of “good for an amateur.” You can see to the right of the background the door to the room, which is closed at the moment.

Panel 3: In part 2, a short time later, the door opens up and we see Capt. Rogers walking into the room. Ms. Mitchell doesn’t notice her coming in, while the good Captain only barely notices the dancing taking place.

Panel 4: We move to a slight close-up on Ms. Rogers’ face after taking in the dancing display for a short time. She is holding back a fairly sizable burst of laughter, though some bits of a chuckle spill out.

CAPT. ROGERS

(to Madison)

Ms. Mitchell…

Panel 5: Cut to Madison halting her dancing escapade a beat later, flashing a bit of an embarrassed glance at the sudden discovery. Though she does her best to try to seem cool for the most part.

MADISON

(pressing the button to pause the music, to Capt. Rogers)

Cap...shouldn’t you be backstage, minding Henry’s cage?

Panel 6: The Captain nods affirmatively at the question, taking a single step forward toward her boss; her left hand closing the door behind her. You can see a little flutter of nerves connected to what’s underneath her words.

CAPT. ROGERS

Zoe has it handled. I came bearing a gift--a show of thanks for...everything.
