Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 9: Part 4.3

Page 223 (Chapter 9, Page 23)

Panel 1: Madison scratches her head with her free hand a moment later, trying to piece together the memory in question. She leans a little over to the left of the panel view as she speaks.

MADISON

Which one? Memory serves, there were a lot of drunk guys singing weird songs.

MADISON

(Bubble 2, sudden remembrance)

Oh yeah, I remember. His accent went from Jamaican to vaguely racist white guy stereotyping Jamaican- passed out before the first verse.

Panel 2: Back to Zoe taking a step forward toward her friend compared to where she was at the end of the previous page. She has the same ponderous look on her face as she quickly tries to answer Ms. Mitchell’s question.

ZOE

He was the drunk guy who looked like a pocket-sized Chris Dowd…

ZOE

(Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 1, Bubble 2)

Hahaha...yeah.

Panel 3: A two-part set of panels that starts out with an action shot of the two ladies laughing out loud for the last bit of time in shared remembrance at the story amongst the two of them.

Panel 4: In the second part, amidst the calm pause between the two of them, Madison chimes in with the first bit of the song that pops into her head suddenly. Zoe looks on with a touch of excitement as she joins in.

MADISON

(singing)

This is the heavy heavy monster sound

The nuttiest story around

So if you’ve come in off the street…

ZOE

(joining in, singing)

And you’re beginning to feel the heat

Well, listen buster…

Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The mutual singing session stops suddenly with the call of a stage manager from off-panel right; their eyes collectively moving toward that area.

STAGE MANAGER

(interjecting, Off-Panel)

Places, everyone. The host is introducing themselves to the audience, and once you hear your name…

Page 224 (Chapter 9, Page 24)

Panel 1: Action shot of Madison a short time later, closing the door to her booth in preparation for the debate’s opening. At this point, Zoe is off-panel on her way to the Spin Room area.

Caption (singing)

“You better start to move your feet”

Panel 2: A short time later, we see her take a seat and unfold the little folded tray down in front of her.

Caption (singing)

“To the rockinest, rock-steady beat

Of madness”

Panel 3: A few moments pass, and the young woman turns the tablet on; her posture straightening out as she prepares for the task yet to come. You can see her eyes looking out toward the stage.

Caption

(singing)

“One step beyond

One step beyond

One step beyond…”

Panel 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. As the applause from off-panel left settles down to a simpler calm, a slight grin comes over the right half of her face.

MADISON

Here we go…!

MODERATOR

(Off-Panel)

The first question goes to Congressman Jenkins…
