Rock The Vouhhhnn!, Chapter 10: Part 4.1
Page 242 (Chapter 10, Page 19)
Panel 1: Back to a shot of Madison’s stunned, near teary eyed face seeing the news on the screen properly for the first time; the layout changing slightly as she stands away from the bunch of people near the karaoke stage. Springing above her face in a shadowy form are images from her childhood studying politics and admired elected officials from the past as well as a new one of her from high school showing her playing election sims on her tablet.
Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. In present time, only a few moments later, we see the tears start to go down both of her cheeks at this news. In the background, you can see Zoe start to run toward her to give her a big excited hug.
ZOE
(slow-mo)
Ho...ly...shit!!
Panel 3: Action shot of Zoe moments later wrapping her now fully teary eyed friend in a bear hug. You can see the tears flowing down her cheeks as well at the celebratory moment.
ZOE
(to Madison)
I know you’re not a fan of hugs. But I thought--
MADISON
(interjecting, to Zoe)
One day exception. One day exception...
Page 243 (Chapter 10, Page 20)
Panel 1: Same general design of Madison as the last panel of the previous page, as well as the same layout. The setting though has changed toward a hallway in the U.S. Capitol building. You can see Zoe standing behind her in the background, looking around at the ornate fixturing of the room.

Inauguration Day, January
ZOE
(amazed, to Madison) Still hard to believe this is real life.
MADISON
I know. Been in a bubble of “barely able to sleep excitement” since election night. Have you found an apartment in the city yet?
Panel 2: Slight close-up on Ms. Olson a beat later, shaking her head firmly at the question. As she speaks, her focus is situated squarely on a painting of a famous Speaker of the House.
ZOE
Couple of contenders. But nothing that exciting, or perfectly in my budget.
Panel 3: We move back to Madison glancing over her shoulder toward her friend with a knowing look on her face.
MADISON
I’d be happy to offer you my place on Roosevelt. It’s government mandated, and I definitely have the room.
MADISON
(Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 4, Bubble 1)
He did. He was flattered, but he landed a pilot and is trying to start up a theatre company in L.A. So, he’s too busy to blow 2 years in the District.
Panel 4: Back to Zoe in the same setting/layout as Panel 2. She looks away from the painting, flashing an appreciative smile at her friend’s offer.
ZOE I’m good for now just staying at the Holiday Inn. Another week or two though- I’ll definitely take you up on the offer. Did Nate ever get back to you about that job offer?
ZOE
(Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 3, Bubble 2)
Good for him. Can’t blame him either, in all honesty.
Panel 5: Cut to a shot of a pair of wooden doors ten feet from where the two women have been standing. An intern pokes her head down to the shoulders from the partially opened doorway. Even with that limited area, you can see part of a formal dark green pantsuit the young woman’s wearing for the occasion.
INTERN (to Zoe and Madison)
Leadfoot’s waiting in the wings.
