The Community, Issue 1: Part 2.2

Page 9

Panel 1: Seanna is seen a short time later, standing in the doorway of their boss' office; their hair messier than before with the hair ties taken off in between here and the previous panel. You can see the sense of sickness incrementally worse throughout their body compared to the end of the previous page.

SEANNA

(weakly)

Ms. Nelson, I...I'm not feeling well.

Panel 2: We cut to a shot of their boss- JERI- watching on from her desk with a great deal of alarm. All we hear about when it comes to Watkins is a "THUD!" emanating from off-panel left.

JERI

(shocked, to Seanna)

Jesus! Go--Go, go, go...

Panel 3: A short time later, Seanna walks through the edge of the parking lot toward the bus stop; the buttoned up shirt untucked for relaxation/cooling purposes.

Caption

(Cont., Jeri)

"We'll be fine here. Hopefully it's just a false alarm."

Panel 4: Slight close-up on them a few moments later, scrolling through their phone in search of something.

Twenty Minutes Later

Panel 5: We move to a shot of the phone screen, showing the homepage for the state of California's health department. You can see Seanna's finger as it's about to click on an Appointment page near the top right corner.

Panel 6: Moments later, after clicking that page, we see a long list of appointments going on that day throughout the city. As before, you can see part of their hand in the shot; their finger moving over to the side to help grip the phone.

SEANNA

(Off-Panel)

Hmmm...

Page 10

Panel 1: Standing at the stop, Seanna looks out toward the right of the panel view; their mind going through the calculations in real time. You can see partially the shadow of a bus coming toward them.

SEANNA

(Cont.)

If I take the 61 to MLK- no, 44th is better- to 68. Then I can just ride it up to the site in Midtown with enough time to...

Panel 2: A sinking thought settles in the pit of the young person's throat a few moments later. You can see a little more of the coming bus in the same section of the panel as Panel 1.

SEANNA

(sudden realization)

The wait times- aren't they usually bad on weekends?

Panel 3: Cut to a chart of wait times stretching back over the past month. They each fall within the 3 to 4 hour range, remaining steadily closer to 4 over the past couple of weeks.

Caption

(Cont., Seanna)

"That's what I heard a few weeks ago when the governor boosted the amount of testing sites statewide. Maybe it's been better since then, but with the idiot in the White House...I should prep for the worse."

Panel 4: Back to Seanna in the bus leaning over to sit at a seat near the front of the bus; their purse already coming off to lay next to them.

SEANNA

(Cont.)

Either way, I should call Mom- fill her in on what's going on.

Panel 5: A two-part set of panels taking place over a handful of moments. In the first part, we see them struck with a bout of queasiness.

Panel 6: In the second part, after Watkins has gotten themselves back to a degree of stability, the bus goes forward once again.

SEANNA

(explanatory comma)

And not pass out or possibly die on the way...also important.
