The Community, Issue 1: Part 3.1
Page 13
Panel 1: In a pure black environment, we see Seanna standing in the center of the panel shot and singing; a spotlight shining squarely down on them.
SEANNA
(singing)
Here we are in the future/ Here we are in the future/ And it's bright/ Nothing to fear/ No one to fight...
Panel 2: Action shot of Seanna walking across toward the stage right area a beat later. You can see a glimmer of hope in their eyes as they're singing.
SEANNA
(Cont., singing)
I can't believe/We've come so far/Happily ever after...
Panel 3: In mid-stride, they've stopped singing at the presence of a weird sound floating in from off-panel right; a look of fascination and confusion on their face.
SEANNA
What the...?
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of the mystery light blue energy floating calmly in the air in front of Seanna.
SEANNA
(Cont.)
I know it's not a pot thing or a 'Shrooms thing ('cause I don't take either).
(Bubble 2)
Is...Is this a new side effect?
Page 14
Panel 1: A two-part set of panels that shifts back to the real world. We see Seanna stepping away from the line toward a garbage can illuminated by a beam of sunlight at that point.
Panel 2: In the second part, moments later, they crash into the can and stumble toward the upstage part of the panel view; the purse still strapped over their person. You can see some of the other people still in line partially noticing the incident.
Panel 3: Seanna slowly pulls themselves back onto their feet; their left hand rubbing the side of their ribcage.
ANT
(Off-Panel)
Oof, that's brutal!
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of ANT- a woman in her 30s with a shaved head and similar androgynous appearance. She's wearing a light blue SNICK throwback mid-riff and a pair of jeans.
ANT
(Cont., to Seanna sympathetically; holding the line)
You okay, dude?
Panel 5: Watkins nods in the woman's direction as they walk back to the line. You can see a bit of the sun and mostly blue sky in the top of the background.
SEANNA
(to Ant, calmly explanatory)
I'm good (embarrassing stumble notwithstanding).
SEANNA
(Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 6, Bubble 1)
Ha! Genderfluid, actually- they/them pronouns. I have a nice collection of skirts back home that I'm...selectful in terms of wearing.
SEANNA
(Bubble 3; reacting to Panel 6, Bubble 2)
Perp?
Panel 6: Back to Ant in the same setting as Panel 4. The layout tightens in a little more to her body. She flashes a bit of a surprised look on her face, touched with joy as well.
ANT
(slight grin)
Nice hair. Metal fan or aspiring drag queen?
ANT
(Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 5, Bubble 2)
Totally understandable. I'm non-binary. I can tolerate "she/her," but personally- I prefer the term Perp.
ANT
(Bubble 3; reacting to Panel 5, Bubble 3)
Short for Purple- pink and blue mixed together. I thought it was a snazzier way of saying...
