Daylight Saving, Issue 1: Part 1.1
Page 1
Panel 1: The alarm goes off in the modest, cluttered room of CABRIENA "BRIE" BENOIT- a nonbinary person wearing a tattered pair of rose gold PJs and an eye mask.
JODW
(from the alarm speaker) It's 8 A.M., January 11th, 2100. Time to get up in the next 10 minutes, Mx. Benoit, unless you wanna be late for work--
BRIE
(interjecting, pulling off the sheets; annoyed) Yeah, yeah, yeah- I know Jodie!
Panel 2: Brie slowly steps to the panel right direction toward the bedroom door to get their outfit together, holding the eye mask by its strap in their left hand; their eyes peered squarely in front of them.
JODW
(Off-Panel) Would you like a recap of the latest news as you prepare morning breakfast?
BRIE
(scoffs) No, thanks. Outside of the Arts and occasional interesting bits about government affairs, the news is hardly interesting. What about the Bazaar? Anything new I should keep an eye on?
Panel 3: We see a brief snapshot of the landscape nearby the City that was formerly Los Angeles, California- ravaged by many different calamities and deep underwater as a result of climate change.

"The last report from the Scrapper unit won't be made public for the next couple of days. Though if last week is any indication, I doubt much will appear regarding Operation: Daylight Saving."
Caption
(Brie)
"Blerg. Not a shock, but still...blerg."
Panel 4: With their clothes in hand a short time later, the young person glances up to the ceiling with a little bit of a brain blast on their way to the shower.
BRIE
(Cont., slight grin) Play Playlist 3...I'm feeling in the mood for Classic Female Anthems.
Panel 5: A profile shot of the city Brie calls home: UNES-2591, aka Gerwig City- a tri-level town with a light rail transport system; the musical notes drifting in at the top of the panel view. It's highlighted by two separate beacons that aren't seen here which handle the Power and Water services, respectively.
Panel 6: In one of those rail cars, we see Brie dressed in their work clothes and seated and scribbling down notes into a weathered, thick notebook that is a handmade chronicle of 21st century history on their way to work.

Panel 1: Close-up on the young person with purse in hand, dressed in a stitched and weathered crimson and blue skirt and blue suitcoat/shirt, and listening to the same music via earbuds as the end of Page 1, heading toward the former mentioned station a short time later. You can see a few other people in similar work clothes going to the same place, which Brie doesn't play a great deal of attention to.
Panel 2: At the security desk, they pass an automated robot who stands as part of the facility's security detail; one of the other workers already walking out of frame at the same time.
SECURITY ROBOT
Good morning, Mx. Benoit. Today is your 888th day as an IT Analyst and Specialist with the Administration of Power & Data.
BRIE
(sighs) Oh wow- hadn't noticed...
SECURITY ROBOT
(Bubble 2) Next week will be the 10th anniversary of your mother's death, if you--
Panel 3: As Brie passes the bot on their way to their station, you can see the melancholy start to peak through in full compared to the previous panel.
BRIE
(interjecting) I'm fully aware of that point. And just like last year, I really...really don't need the celebration.
Panel 4: A short time later, at their station, the young person is deep in the groove of the work day, examining different technical elements in the power structure of the city.

(Cont., Brie)
"I got it all handled, thank you."
BRIE
Grid 542- good. Grid 544- good. Grid 546- minor issues...report to the Grunts for placement in Repair Queue.
Panel 5: Later in the day, Mx. Benoit scrolls through the camera feed outside the city limits that keeps an eye on the massive solar panel array that helps give Gerwig City its juice.
MILLIE
(Off-Panel) Hey B, on the way to work, I found the last part for your machine.
