Daylight Saving, Issue 1: Part 2.2

Page 9

Panel 1: The following day, we see the young person going through various bits of their morning routine: at breakfast...

Panel 2: ...on the tram heading to work, scribbling a set of notes near the back of the notebook. All we see of what it is is a title at the top of the page: "Daylight Saving- Stanza 1."

Panel 3: We close a short time later with Brie having already passed the security station, which is partially visible in the background. The theme that connects each panel is a single emotion on Mx. Benoit's face: confidence of purpose.

(Millie)

"What's got you so chipper today?"

Panel 4: At the break room, we see Millie and Brie seated and eating lunch along with a little section of workers who share the same shift.

MILLIE

(Cont., to Brie; inquisitive) I know it's not 'cause it's the monthly Diagnostics Day. No one in the history of G-City's ever been excited about Diagnostics Day--

Panel 5: Slight close-up on Millie's face a beat later, putting two and two together when it comes to the answer.

MILLIE

(Cont., surprised) ...Holy shite cubes, tonight's the big night! Have you even tried testing that circular death trap yo built?

Panel 1: Brie fires back calmly at the worry questions, taking a sip of a type of vitamin water in their reusable cup.

BRIE

The Burnham? Of course I've tested it out.

Panel 2: Flashback to the young person's lab months before, showing them looking over a computer simulation via their homemade laptop.

(Millie)

"Are we talking an actual test, not just a sim on that old ganky laptop of yours?"

Panel 3: The ending of the simulation (TEST SUCCESSFUL) elicits a sense of contentment on the young person's face mixed with a bit of worry reading the data.

Caption

(Brie)

"First off, don't diss Chewie. She's gotten me through a lot of stuff in my life. And secondly..."

Panel 4: Back to Mx. Benoit in the break room, placing the cup back down on the table to close the rest of their point.

BRIE

(Cont.) I already have a dry run involved before I take off.

Panel 5: Sparked by the new piece of information, Millie prods in a little further as her friend off-panel goes through their purse for the answer.

MILLIE

And this dry run won't accidentally take out the dome protecting G-City and doom us all, would it?

Panel 6: A short time later, we see Brie placing a replica Kodak camera onto the table next to their half-eaten meal.

BRIE

I doubt it'll be that bad...hopefully.
